Location was fine and comfortable house

Walking in to find it how the previous occupants had left it. Beds not made and pots in sink, bathroom towels left etc. Struggled to get response from owner who eventually answered and got it sorted.

If you’re a fan of trainspotting, you’re in for a treat—right by the tracks, so you’ll never miss a passing carriage (or a 5 a.m. wake-up call) & only 15 mins walk to the outskirts of the city centre. Quiet location (apart from the passing trains). Also, the smoke alarm definitely works! Goes off every time you cook. Bonus excitement. There’s a highchair provided, which was helpful—though we’d have appreciated a travel cot to match.

Communication was poor—I had to chase for access info, and further questions were completely ignored. Not the warmest welcome. Before we even opened the front door, the smell of smoke hit us—not the usual kind, either. Found cigarette butts in the garden, just to complete the vibe. Bins were already overflowing when we arrived, with nowhere for our own rubbish. Sleeping arrangements were misleading—it said 2 singles, 1 extra-large double, but that should really say or. Property sleeps 4, not 5. No travel cot, despite messaging (and being ignored). Security? Not great. Back gate doesn’t lock, and someone forced entry into the garden during our stay. No carbon monoxide alarm in a gas property (which is illegal), and gas fumes filled the kitchen during showers or washing up. The extractor fan? Just recirculates air straight back in. Kitchen was under-equipped: 1 saucepan, no baking trays, oven dishes or proper knives. The cutlery was so blunt we used spoons to cut bread—genuinely. The breakfast bar and hallway bench are oversized and sticky. Like… very sticky. Towels were rough and stained, so we bought new ones. Cupboards full of bedding/towels, but based on the state of them, hard to tell what was clean. Duvets and pillows were low quality, stained and lumpy, with little-to-no mattress protection. The glass coffee table was wobbly, the garden had no seating, and the bathroom had a chipped, unstable toilet seat, no lock, and dusty, dirty toilet roll basket. A stained chair in the bedroom was disguised with a throw—not fooling anyone. The hallway gripper rods? Exposed. Hope you don’t like skin on your feet.

Great location, lovely garden, felt very safe, spacious - nice communal space with working smart TV and wonderful fire.

There was 3/4 of a toilet roll for four people for duration of our stay, no hand towels or hand soap in the bathroom, no cleaning products available beyond fairy liquid, generally did not feel clean (used matches in empty candle, dirty plates and cutlery, sheets weren’t properly on the bed and didn’t feel like the place had been vacuumed). Didn’t reply to my message about how to enter the property and had to call to confirm.

Location was great, quiet neighbourhood with private parking. Very central 10-15 minute walk from York centre. Property had everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The location to York city centre was really good! The house is stylishly decorated. Everything was lovely and clean,beds were really comfy! The house as everything you need for a comfortable stay!

Didn't not like anything as said above house is stylishly decorated would just say it could do with a bit of tlc in some areas- the lights at the side of the double bed didn't work,the curtain pole in the lounge is broken also the lampshade in the lounge is broken but nothing major!

Nice place to stay for a night. Within walking distance of the station. Great for 2 people.

I am extremely disappointed and angry about the property I booked through your platform. The place was absolutely unfit to stay in. It was dirty, unprepared, and neglected. One of the beds was clearly used and unmade, as if someone had just slept in it. Towels were thrown on the floor, and even the folded towel on the other bed was already dirty. The living room had breadcrumbs scattered on the table and nightstands. The bathroom was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned properly, if at all. There was no detergent provided, so we couldn’t even clean the towels ourselves.

Location was great, we had a slight problem with the key safe but eventually got in 😊

The quilt on the bed was very thin so I was a bit cold
