Fantastic location

Very quaint and original architecture

Location was great, the room was comfortable & the staff lovely. They were very dog friendly!

The breakfast wasn't so good - full English not very well cooked & hollandaise sauce out of a bottle or packet. A shame.

The room was lovely and clean. The location was beautiful. The food was very good in the restaurant. The breakfast provided in the cafe over the road was amazing.

There was no parking, we had to park outside the village. We were expecting breakfast, but when we came downstairs in the morning, we were told we had to go to the cafe over the road. This was paid for by the hotel, but this was not explained when we arrived, and this was not explained in the wecolme booklet. On the plus side, the breakfast was excellent. The staff behind the bar in the pub were young and not very professional. They were messing about and swearing using the 'F' word. It's not very nice if you bring children into the place for a meal.

Had to go to cartmel cafe across the road for breakfast,with a £15 allowance pp towards breakfast cost. However it was well cooked. Scrambled eggs were great and granola compote good.

The room was excellent, with a 4-poster bed and an amazing bath too although we didn't find time to use it. The food was good if a little pricey, and the live music was excellent over the weekend. Breakfast was great in the cafe opposite, this is included in the price. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Overall I would recommend and I would return.

There is absolutely no parking available except at the nearby race course at £13 for 24 hours. This should be made clear in the property description. The tv is difficult to see from the bed and no one was available to hand keys to on checkout. These were minor issues though and I wouldn't be put off by them. Go you will enjoy it.
