"Good location but not great follow-up service"

The location is great for Cartmel.

There was an issue with the plumbing so we didn’t have the room booked. We were offered another room, with a refund for the difference. This was agreed but the refund was never received. All messages to the property chasing the refund have been ignored. All messages to booking.com support have also not been responded to. Overall, a disappointing experience.

"Great classic dog friendly pub with helpful staff."

The pub is shut on Monday and Tuesday so we had it to ourselves which was cool. It is located right at the centre of the village square so getting to all the other establishments took 1 minute. All the staff were super friendly and the property is dog friendly so that was great. We had a meal here on Wednesday night and the food is fantastic. Staff are friendly, welcoming and will recommend sites and walks in the local area.

The breakfast at Cartmel coffee was fantastic

No Breakfast available at the kings arms due to chef altercation ……sent to Cartmel coffee for breakfast Room not clean on arrival….requested marked bedding be changed but not changed on first or second day Room not cleaned on second day No clean towels or toiletries Was given 2 clean towels by bar staff on request but room not cleaned Feedback on check out was responded to with sorry to hear that 🤷🏻‍♂️

The pub atmosphere is why I booked it

When we booked in we were told the pub was closed on a Monday and Tuesday and they didn’t know how we managed to book it, other couples had done the same. First morning the shower flooded the bathroom so they moved us into another room, much better but you still had to watch the shower, in all me and a great time in Cartmel but the pub needs to get its act together Thank you Nigel and Angelina
