Home Away Ella

De familie waar je verblijft is heel vriendelijk. Het welkom is warm. Het ontbijt is goed. De familie heeft 1 kamer aan huis, wel met een eigen ingang, dus ook voldoende privacy. Het fijnste is dat de man een Tuktuk chauffeur is en dat je met hem tourtjes kan doen. Communicatie gaat in gesprek makkelijker dan via WhatsApp, als je aangeeft wat je graag wil zien, denken ze echt heel goed mee. Ik was de derde dag jarig en bij het ontbijt werd ik verrast, heel lief. Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is echt heel goed. Zowel van de kamer, als de tours. Tip, doe een stukje trein richting Ella via de Demodaraloop en de nine arches Bridge. Trein is dan nog niet zo druk en je krijgt zo toch de toffe ervaring met mooie uitzichten.

Locatie is niet helemaal ideaal, al is het maar een kleine 10 min. Lopen naar het centrum, het is wel een klimmetje op de terugweg. Al is het ook een voordeel dat je niet midden in de drukte van het echt drukke centrum zit. De kamer is vochtig, heeft deels met het klimaat te maken, maar ook deels met de badkamer die niet kan luchten, dus al dat vocht blijft in de kamer hangen, lijkt vrij eenvoudig op te lossen zijn met een hor voor het raam. (wij durfden het raam niet open te zetten ivm de muggen). Tip voor de activiteiten, skip de kruidentuin, dat is echt een tourist trap.

Le meilleur petit déjeuner dans cette île ! Gargantuesque ! Le lit était très bon! Nous avons bien dormi ! Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les petits équipements à notre disposition : chargeur universel, thé et café à disposition, coton tiges, parapluie, etc ! Tout est fait pour se sentir comme à la maison! Le couple est adorable et très arrangeant! Nous recommandons ce home stay!

Les murs sont fins donc nous entendons tous les bruits extérieurs, notamment un logement voisin qui faisait la fête donc attention pour ceux qui sont sensibles aux bruits, nous concernant cela ne nous a pas empêché de dormir 😴

Everything was amazing. The room is clean and the shower is great. You just need to turn on the heater switch for hot water. It’s less than a 10 minute walk to the bottom of the hill towards the shops/restaurants. Got breakfast early in the morning as well, hosts are very accommodating. Loved it there and I would definitely go back.

The most amazing stay in Sri Lanka, very clean spacious room, great shower with hot water , the breakfast was unbelievable, so big and tasty. The host went above and beyond for us every day! She helped us with everything , organised a good priced tuk tuk . We couldn’t recommend this place enough , there was not a single thing we could fault. Amazing 10/10

Staying at Home Away Ella was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and hospitality that we instantly felt like part of the family ❤️ The room had everything you need for a comfortable stay and the breakfast was super tasty. We hope to return back to Ella one day and stay at this accommodation again 🙂

Such a lovely room, super comfortable and the breakfast was incredible! We were served delicious tea and biscuits on arrival and our host was so lovely and accommodating :)

Host was so lovely, great breakfasts and good recommendations - very flexible and chatty, easy to contact for help! Super easy to start walks to little adam's peak or the 9 arches bridge!

Make sure to ask for directions as a couple lefts and rights to get there, but easy to get back to and from once you've checked in!
