Home Away Ella

Great stay! Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Owners were lovely.

THE most lovely family and home stay in all of Ella! It was really the best accomodation throughout all of our Sri Lanka travels. The host family is very caring, helps you with every need and can help you arrange transportation and everything else. Cozy and clean room, no need for an A/C because of the cold Ella nights. Very good breakfast, that even was prepared for us to go, when we had to leave at 4 AM. The hosts daughter is a little sunshine and the baby cat is crazy and fun to play with. Location is very central, 8 min walk to the main road and directly next to the famous Wild Bee Hostel. Would absolutely recommend!

The hosts are extremely friendly and gave us good input what to do in Ella (the monastery with meditation is really a great experience!!). The breakfast was amazing, plenty of food, every day something different, lots of fruits, freshly made shake/juice... When we came home in the afternoon or evening, we were offered tea or coffee, always with some crackers/biscuits. The bed is very comfortable, the room decorated nicely. Great location - Ella is really busy, but here you are away from the noise and hustle and can relax in the green shades. However, you're in the city in 5 minutes and you can walk to the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam's Peak without taking a Tuktuk.

We really enjoyed our stay the hostess was so kind and welcoming breakfast was superb and the bed was the comfiest one we’ve had in Sri Lanka yet, the homeowner even made us tea and cake on several occasions when we came back from a day of sight seeing lovely place to stay close to everything but away from the craziness of Ella

There is ongoing construction of a new hotel behind the home stay so you can hear power tools and workmen all day and into the night this is not the hostess fault but just something to note. We also had our own tuk tuk and the home stay is located up some quite steep hills so keep that in mind however the owners husband was more than happy to help drive our tuk tuk safely for us to the top.

Comfortable room, cool though it lacked AC, with lovely garden terrace for breakfast.

Though very close to town the location was a bit out of the way (up and down steep hills, and quite secluded), so this wouldn’t suit all travelers.

Lovely stay with the host family. They were so welcoming and friendly, offered lots of advice and direction of what to do in the local area We stayed for 3 nights. They even invited us to their adorable daughter's 1st birthday party. The breakfast was superb, so much and very well cooked. We were regularly offered tea and coffee, always accompanied with biscuits. The location is very good about a 5 min walk off the main strip in Ella. Next door is a private laundry service which we used and was great 700 ruppees per kilo.

The host's husband is a Tuk Tuk driver and he took us to the Diyaluma falls taking in the Rivana caves on the way. Great visit but check the cost of any trip (9-3pm) as they charged us 15000 ruppees which was 3 times the cost we had paid for an all day tour in other places. (Our 3 night stay cost 22000). My bad should have checked beforehand. The WIFI needs attention & really doesn't work; took 1 hr to load 10 WhatsApp pics & most websites won't load, maybe has a fault, I did mention it. The location is good for Ella, but if you want quiet, best choose a location further out as Ella club music is audable until 2am. However, it was still all a wonderful stay.

Family is just amazing...no words to describe ..i really had a good time they always happy to help
