Urbanicooh Asinelli - Balcony on Piazza Maggiore

We initially liked the promise of a beautiful location with private parking and that we could bring our dog which turned out to be a misrepresentation. (the photo shows the view, the backside of a giant cinema screen from June 17th until the end of August)

Our stay at this place was highly problematic and ruined our day in Bologna for several reasons. Listing filters and misleading discription The listing indicated private parking for a fee, that the property was dog-friendly, quiet and offers views. In our initial booking, we confirmed via message parking for our rental car and acceptance of our dog. Parking However, in reality, there was no parking within an 18-minute walk from the apartment (try this with luggage), and it was impossible to drive near the apartment for drop-off. We pointed out to the owner that only a handful of public spots are in theory available and that these spots require a hotel-issued permit for overnight use, assuming one is fortunate enough to find an available space. We met other travelers who had secured a hotel pass and still spent hours unsuccessfully waiting for someone to vacate a spot. When we confronted the owner with his misrepresentation he indicated we're studid, since everyone should know that there is no parking in the city center. No views and late night noise during summer During the summer, there are no views because a giant cinema screen spans in front of the balcony and window for movie nights, obstructing views making it incredibly loud until 1 am. Additionally, a dehumidifying system built into the large AC grills rattled loudly, turning on and off throughout the night with no way to disable it. The host messaged us with complicated instructions on how to disable the system, including ripping out the grill. This task would have required tools and likely damaged the wall. To distract from the problems he accused us of skipping his last minute, privately added cash payment requests through Whatsapp and of not mentioning our dog—a quiet, non-shedding poodle—even though we did so repeatedly in the initial booking message. The entire stay was a disaster.

Excellent location with great views

Minor issues - no kettle on arrival (replaced next morning), broken wc seat in one bathroom, heating switched on in one room during night even though thermostat set low.

Great location

The views, overlooking the piazza Maggiore was the perfect location to enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony. The piazza is buzzing and a great place to watch the world go by.
