Kings Arms Inn

A very pleasant one night stay for us and our German Shepherd Dog. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with a good sized en-suite shower room. The decor was interesting and well thought out. The charming hosts provided a reasonably priced and varied menu for dinner, eaten in the bar. The pub is situated near Downside Abbey with easy access into the pub from its own car park. The immediate area has numerous footpaths, good for stretching yours and your dog’s legs after a day in the car. We found a nice circular walk taking about an hour. Ideal stopover for travelling to and from the West Country. Would recommend this accommodation.

The new owners are doing a great job brining this pub back to life

We went away for a lazy break with very old dog. We were made to feel very welcome by Phil and Jo. The pub was friendly, the room very comfortable. We were impressed by having fresh milk in the room and no plastic wrapped tea bags etc. The bar food was very good and Jo’s breakfasts delicious! ( good wine and beer also!)There were some good walks from the pub. Lovely countryside. We felt very rested and wish Jo and Phil all the best with their new venture. They obviously have a talent for hospitality.

Clean & comfortable room, lovely couple who run the pub with rooms. Nothing was too much trouble. I think this was my 3rd stay, always in the same room which was nice & quiet. My room & en-suite were a good size & the bed comfortable. The owners are in the process of upgrading the whole property & I'm sure the finished result will be well worth it. Extremely convenient location for my work, with on site parking.

There was very little hanging space in my room, but I know this is due to be addressed as the upgrade continues.

Excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them. Very attentive and helpful. Lovely room recently renovated, very comfortable. Enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal as well. A great fun evening had with the hosts and the locals, and even live music too. Can't recommend enough.

Friendly couple who worked very hard to make our stay comfortable . The bedroom was beautiful, tasteful and with all the features that make for a good stay.
