GBIt must have been a destiny that send us to Gihan and Dinu homestay! We had such a lovely time with our beautiful hosts and cannot thank them enough for sharing their place with us and introducing us to their lives. Hosts are very welcoming and humble people. It is impossible not to connect with them straight away and their honest and natural smile is a boundaries breaker. They will go an extra mile for you, wanting to make your experience of their homestay and Sri Lanka truly exceptional. Gihan kindly offered to collect us from the train station, and made sure to have dinner waiting for us (our train was delayed). We could not have expected a more generous welcoming and kindness. We booked next morning tour around temples with Gihan, which we enjoyed a lot. Gihan also can provide solution to any problems and his recommendations and directions are very valuable! Dinu will keep you hydrated all day long and will make sure your belly is full at all times with her delicious home cooking. Highlight of our stay was a cooking class with our hosts. We got to know them really well and bonded during cutting and chopping local ingredients in preparation of our delicious dinner, which we shared together. Our class was preceded with a trip to a local market, where Gihan told us about local produce, and what was in the season and how to select the freshest possible vegetables. He also answered fully our questions about chillies (we love our spice) and dry fish, which is quite big part of Sri Lankan cuisine. Gihan and Dinu homestay was our first experience of real Sri Lankan life. The homestay is simple, but offering everything you need. It is being continuously upgraded (new open kitchen to be opened soon) and plans for building additional rooms are being drawn. If you care to bond with another human being, value the intimacy of being introduced to someone’s life and become part of it, even for a short time, this is the place to experience it all. DEDie Familie die das Homestay führt ist unglaublich freundlich. Ich durfte ihr Fahrrad ausleihen um die Tempel zu besichtigen. Dazu haben sie mir die Tempel geschickt, welche kostenlos sind. Abends gab es das beste Curry das ich bis jetzt in Sri Lanka gegessen habe. Für den folgenden Tag wurde für mich eine Safari in den Wilpattu Nationalpark organisiert. Was ebenfalls wunderbar war. 100% Weiterempfehlung!
DEDer Gastgeber und seine Familie sind unfassbar nett und hilfsbereit, sie waren stets bemüht uns einen tollen Aufenthalt zu bescheren. Außerdem war das Abendessen wirklich lecker und sollte auf jeden Fall probiert werden!
Nachts ist es sehr heiß und feucht, es gibt nur einen Ventilator, was das schlafen schon erschwert
FRNos hôtes, Gihan et son épouse, ont réellement pris soin de nous en étant à l'écoute de nos besoins.Arrivant tard le premier jour, ils nous ont proposé de dîner, nous donnant ainsi accès à leur délicieuse cuisine familiale. Par la suite nous avons pris nos petits déjeuners et dîners à la maison. Gihan et son épouse parlent trés bien anglais ce qui nous a permis de coconstruire notre séjour avec leur aide et de découvrir le quotidien d'une famille cinghalaise. Lever de soleil inoubliable sur Minhintale.
NLWe had a lovely stay with the host and his family. They are very welcoming, friendly and help wherever needed. For example, he helped us arranging tuktuks and a safari to Wilpattu National Park which was amazing. We got a very nice breakfast and dinner. We would highly recommend staying with them.
NLDit was een dikke aanrader! Via booking.com bij de homestay gekomen en het was echt GEWELDIG! Ten eerste werden we al opgehaald dicht bij het busstation en bracht hij ons naar de homestay. Daarnaast heeft hij ons de volgende dag met een andere koppel een superleuke tour gegeven langs de tempels. Ze praten goed Engels dus we hebben erg veel met ze gepraat en superlekker gegeten. Ze zijn echt supervriendelijk. Dikke aanrader!

Purtroppo la stanza e il bagno non erano puliti. Nella stanza era presente una finestra che non poteva essere chiusa in quanto mancava il vetro quindi alle 6 di mattina si sentivano tutti i rumori provenienti da fuori
NLOp aanraden van een vriendin van ons hebben we hier geboekt en het is zeker niet tegengevallen. De eigenaren van de homestay waren ontzettend aardige mensen! S’ochtends om 4 uur voordat we op safari gingen, kregen we zelfs nog een klaargemaakt ontbijt mee van hun. Het eten is echt een aanrader. Ze willen alles voor je regelen.

CAThe stay at Corner Cottage was the highlight of our trip. This young couple is welcoming and energetic to create an exceptional yet homey experience for tourists. Make sure you request dinner! Amazing food and with a tuk tuk on site it was so convenient to get a ride to the bus and our own tour!
