The New Kirkstead Guest House

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was a single (paid for a double but booking.com were still accepting bookings when they were actually overbooked), bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Bedding was fresh and smelled nice. Location was very handy, short walk to either North/South shore. Plenty of shops nearby, nice little cafe on the corner does a decent breakfast. Pretty quiet location, although I stayed over a weekend so some noise was to be expected on the streets. Overall good place to get your head down after a long day.

No TV in my room, no tea/coffee etc in my room either. Those facilities are downstairs in the lounge. There was some unruly guests, however the staff dealt with them swiftly. The lack of toilet paper in the shared toilets, luckily I always carry tissues with me.

The bedroom wasn’t the cleanest! Bed sheets clearly wasn’t changed because crumbs and marks on the mattress sheet.

Horrible place

I originally booked for this hotel I arrived and I was told that he had no space so he swapped me for the room in an opposite hotel Which I don’t mind. But soon as I walked in the hotel I was greeted to the smell of mould and weed The so called b&b farnbourgh was like a drug den entered my room it had no curtains no proper locks on the door had no toilet paper.. Opened the draws to see old tobacco and weed dust under the bed was old toenails clippings No tv or drink making equipment no towels for the “shower” I was offered a drink from the b&b but after seeing the room I didn’t get one 3am I had some person banging on my door and shouting all night I left at 5am the next morning and found somewhere else I do not recommend I get it was 21 a night but I wouldn’t even stay their if they paid me the money filed a complaint with Expedia and got a full refund so avoid The Farnborough

Its good to stay and friendly staf.

Bed was big and very comfy.

Shower temperature could of been better

Had a nice cosy stay for 3nights, for the money tbh was very good overall. Nice bed, room had sink and coffee making facilities..... Heating was on as weathers been cold so was surprised it was warm in the room...... The shower was filled with sand so not so good.... However the toilet was shared and close by. Would have preferred a better view.... Other than the vast amount of rubbish outside. Possibly would stay again but perhaps, the rooms, could be updated as looking quite tired older ...... Feel linen could be further updated softer and updated. Overall not too bad Cheap n cheerful.

Close to the beach

Very dirty and smelled mouldy, shower almost burned my scalp and body as it was boiling hot then turned freezing then back to scalding hot again. The bed had hairs in it as if it hadn’t been changed and smelled sour.
