The New Kirkstead Guest House

We received a very warm welcome..our room was very clean , rwcently decorated and comfortable..bed was very comfy..

Guest house was ok. We weren’t there very long as had to leave for a family emergency. Host was very friendly.

Felt very safe and welcoming. The hotel is very clean in all rooms with modern TV. Very near the sea. There is a space that is welcome to all downstairs. I would stay here again in the future I hope. :)

Due to a change in plans, we didn't stay the second night and checked out before 10am but was not allowed a refund. No news back from Booking.com and a tepid response from the place itself... will this make them react?

Friendly staff

The beautiful sparkling pink front of the house - put a smile on my face immediately! Separate toilets/bathrooms. The bed was super comfortable after a full day of sightseeing. The little complimentary shower gels. The room smelled pleasant. The complimentary bottles of water, teas and coffees. The tv (for my partner). On-street parking outside the property made it easier for check-in/check-out. The little doggy treats (Cooper loved them!) The communal living room area was very welcoming. Use of the kitchen facilities/dining tables if needed (we didn’t use them). This house is close to the central shopping area of Blackpool and also the promenade which is great. We didn’t get to meet the hosts, sadly, but we were hardly in the hotel. We have exchanged texts, however, and I have found Matthew to be very amenable and pleasant. I hope to meet them next time we stay! As an aside, I have read some of the reviews and I can’t help but call out homophobia when I see it. The hosts’ sexual orientation has absolutely nothing to do with their guest house or facilities. I can’t believe I’m having to address that on a review!

The house is dated and in need of repairs and a thorough decoration update, but the owners have not long since taken over the property so we are aware, things take time (and money!). That being said, it certainly wasn’t a bad place to stay and for the price we paid, we were more than happy with the facilities. It isn’t the ritz but we wouldn’t expect gold plated taps for the cost of our stay.

Manager kicked us out for no reason said he seen my partner attacking another residents dog on cctv when there was none while the same resident was smoking pot in his room and was allowed to stay

Loved it. Room was lovely, beautiful decorated and loved the rose gold beams. Bed was so comfy. Would definitely book again.
