Luxury City Apartment in JQuarter Birmingham

The apartment itself is decent. If you are tolerant to a slightly musty smell in the bathroom, some leak spots that could use a bit of paint, and 1 of the 2 toilet flush buttons not working, it is a fine place. The location is also fine, if you indeed know that you want to stay in that area.

1. In the end our costs were 7.5% higher, because of banking costs and exchange rate loss, incurred by the cumbersome demand of the owner to wire a substantial sum to his bank account as a deposit. We had been in touch up front about this where I addressed this problem. He then said that such loss wouldn't happen, he did it all the time, and I would just get all of it back. Not -- it was 12.5 pounds (15 euros) less. He wouldn't take the responsibility (just blaming it on my bank which he had nothing to do with, regardless of the discussion we had about this up front, and regardless the fact that almost ALL banks charge costs for international transfers), apart from the fact that such deposit could be arranged in way more convenient ways. 2. Trouble in getting the key. The lockbox is a block away from the apartment, and the owner did not want to send the code earlier than 15:00h. But even then he didn't. After 30 minutes of waiting politely, I got in touch (the phone was as many angry reviewers have experienced of course not answered), and then I got the code via the Booking chat app (with his apologies and something about malfunctioning apps). 3. Trouble finding the place (minor issue). It is in a kind of "hidden" road, and one of the street view photos we received to find it was outdated and did not match the current view. All in all, also given many other critical reviews, this owner is not quite "on the hospitality side". Whichever response in his defence will follow to this, I'd say you would be better off checking out the many alternatives that you can book. Meanwhile perhaps the owner will resolve these issues, to be resounded in better experiences and reviews.

Lovely stay, the slight imperfections in the apartment are reflected in the price, but overall a lovely comfortable stay, flat is equipped with everything you could need. I brought my own but some little shower gels / soaps would have been a nice addition... overall very happy with the stay :)

they didn't open door for me also the manager said I give u money back but he still didn't do it

The owner wanted a deposit but really wanted to cancel my booking, made me book and pay deposit just to cancel

Horrible experience , they didn’t even answer their phone .they just asked me to cancel after I had paid and the cancellation charge is as much as the booking charge so I think this was all a pretty big Scam
