"A comfortable, very relaxing stay in a well equipped lodge."

Lovely, clean and well equipped lodge with a comfortable bed and thick towels. Excellent shower and bath with all the hot water you could wish for. Very peaceful location and enjoyed sitting with the door open, watching the cows, rabbits and birds in the fields and garden. This was our second visit, and we find it a great base to use for exploring the many National Trust properties nearby, plus it’s ideally situated for all major routes for exploring further afield.

The oven seemed to take ages to heat up, but as we only used it once, it wasn’t an issue. We usually recycle where possible, but there wasn’t any obvious provision for this other than food waste. Perhaps some lidded crates could be placed in the porch area?

Hosts were extremely professional and friendly. They showed us the main features of the property which you rarely get in accommodation. The accomodation was spotless and it was nice to see that they the owners had not scrimped on the quality of the fixtures and fittings- home from home. The location was perfect- really close to Castle Cary so that we a could get a direct train into Bath. Well worth the money.
