Writers View, Royal Mile Apartment Edinburgh

The apartment was conveniently located to tourist attractions, public transportation, shops and restaurants. We had a few problems when we first arrived but John the owner responded in a timely manner. The beds were comfortable and the shower water was hot.

The listing did not indicate that it was a 6 story/75 step walk up. Most unpleasant when lugging big suitcases. The outside of the building was filthy and tagged with graffiti. The inside stairwells were so dirty and run-down, I felt like I was back home in the NY city subways. The interior of the apartment needs some updating. Carpets are old, run-down and stained. The leather couches need to be replaced as they are cracked and the one cushion has no support and you need a hoist to get up.

The location was perfect.

The property had only been spot cleaned. Bedding was perfect but surfaces, carpets, walls etc were not cleaned. Or had been cleaned around items such as the toaster.

Value for money. You definitely pay for the location here. Bathroom facilities a little dated. Specifically, shower could be upgraded as not very good.

Amazing apartment with a great location in the Royal Mile, right in front of the Writer's Museum. The apartment was very clean, great for groups, it has a full kitchen and the host was very helpful. It was a magical stay. I would 100% recommend you to stay here.

Getting to the apartment is an uphill journey and there's a lot of stairs, but hey that's Edinburgh! There could be an easier way to access the apartment, having to go to the train station locker for the keys added an extra walk.

Perfect location, lovely, nice, spacious and very comfortable apartment. Wonderful view to Writers Museum. Detailed descriptions and user manuals were available. Excellent communication with the owners. If we ever go back to Edinburgh, we will definitely stay in this apartment.
