Antonio kindly met me when I got off my train and drove me to the apartment, and drove me to the train station when I left. He is definitely a character! The accommodation was central and it was nice to be able cook some meals having bought vegetables etc at the market on the main square. Good to have coffee, milk, croissants and bread provided. I highly recommend a walk to Eremo di Sant'Onofrio al Morrone - it takes around 3 hours 30 minutes (there and back, see photo) so take plenty of water and a snack or two. I wish I'd had more time to explore the mountains.

This is no fault of Antonio's, but noisy mopeds were an issue one night - I had ear plugs as well.

Casetta carinissima con cucina fornita di tutto, finestra con vista sulla montagna. Camera da letta al piano superiore con bagno, anche questo con finestra e fornito di sapone e bagno schiuma e del diffusore per i capelli ricci che ho usato visto che avevo scordato il mio). Tutto molto pulito. Posizione super centrale. Cestino per la colazione con marmellate, fette biscottate, cornetti e Nutella. Nel frigo latte con e senza lattosio (una attenzione non da poco). Host (Antonio) che definire gentile è poco: disponibile, sorridente, super helpful. Insomma, poche chiacchiere, se siete a Sulmona non potete non venire qua.

Proprietario gentilissimo e disponibile, ci ha fatto trovare anche una colazione senza glutine e lattosio. L'appartamento era pulito.

Absolutely stunning location and the views from the apartment are unreal. Antonio is the sweetest host ever! He showed me how to use a Moka, gave me a ride to and from the station, carried my luggage, and told me all about the area. I was able to do laundry with no issue and the apartment was really comprehensively (and beautifully) furnished. I could have easily bought some groceries and stayed there for a full week or two and not missed anything. Sulmona isn't super big so I'd highly recommend visiting nearby towns. The buses aren't too hard to figure out but driving may give you some more flexibility with timing. Would recommend learning some Italian since this is a less touristic area. The breakfast is prepackaged pastries/toasts and jelly. There's coffee and tea as well. I had a pretty short stay so it was fine for me since they were pretty yummy. There were pots and pans though, so you could make something else very easily. This place very quickly felt like home!

The mattress was a little on the thin side but I slept just fine! There are also a lot of kiddos with motor cross bikes on a nearby road so it can be a little noisy at some hours but it's not an all night problem.
