Hotel Relais Villa Annalara

The location was excellent, great view of the town.

Several flies in the room, and the breakfast was okay.

The Villa is absolutely beautiful, we never experienced a stay like this until now. The sea view from the terrace is amazing, I woke up every morning at 7.00 o' clock just to see it for 30 min. It's medicine for your brain. Even if you don't have the room with a sea view you can go on the garden or at the terrace were the breakfast is served and see the view. The host, Salvatore, is a great guy. Very helpful, take care of the guests, even solve a good transport option for Salerno when was holiday in Italy. Breakfast has good options, served on the terrace. Location is very close to the town center, like 5 min by walk. An amazing experience overall, definitely recommend this villa to stay in Amalfi.

Myself and my husband stayed here early October. Firstly, the hotel is in a great location. It’s close to amalfi centre, but far away enough to feel tranquil. The terrace area is great with beautiful views. The host/ owner is also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. There are quite a few steps up to the hotel, however there is a lift available. Rooms could maybe do with a little upgrade. Only room for improvement would be breakfast which is extremely limited - although the coffee and pastries were great. Apart from the pastries we didn’t feel there was anything else we could eat.

The view was spectacular! Rooms were clean and spacious, and staff was excellent! We felt like we were home! We are already planning a return visit!

The location was nice and far enough away from the centre to be quiet. Nice room and good view on the shared terrace - with two other rooms. This was the best room, so Salvatore told us and so it should be for €260 per night! However, two things were really shocking. Firstly, breakfast was dreadful. There was a four pot container with omelette, fried eggs, bacon and something else. However, it wasn’t hot as expected but chilled!! I mean - chilled fried eggs!! Even worse, we stayed 3 nights and the food never changed - it was exactly the same items!!! We had been warned off this by a nice American couple. I imagine it would have been riddled with bacteria. Other than cereal and fruit, the only edible food was a bread roll. Secondly however was far worse. When I cam to pay, the owner insisted on cash. I questioned this and he said it stated quite clearly in the terms. It certainly didn’t. And what business wants cash when banks charge double to bank it. He said if we want to pay by card it was an extra 10%. There is only one clear reason for this - cheating the tax man. How sad that some Italians continue to let their country down by cheating the state. This has only happened to us once before and strangely enough, that was in Amalfi also - some 5 years ago. Perhaps it is an Amalfi thing. A lovely location but so let down by its owner.
