It was lovely being in the heart of the farm, our two year old loved seeing the sheep from the bedroom window! Lovely walk through the orchards.

There was nothing not to like. It was exactly as described.

"Rustic, charming, laid back, relaxing and lovely in a farmcore kind of way."

8.0

The Adorable Hideaway, or Bramley Farm is a charming, very rustic, peaceful, laid back sort of place. It is located in a beautiful picturesque location, surrounded by green fields and woodland. It has truly lovely walks through the apple orchard and the woods. It also has sheep and lambs in the fields, and chickens wandering around. They produce apple juice and cider from their own apples which they sell, and which is well worth trying. The staff were friendly, helpful, and approachable. We would definitely go back.

Given the nature of the place (it’s not a Travelodge) it’s hard to come up with anything I didn’t like. If there was anything, I’m sure they’d try to put it right.

"Would not recommend this on to be listed on booking .com website."

5.0

You needed a good 4x4 to access the the accommodation as the long muddy track was deep in mud and ruts.

The track needs sorting out and improving .had to wash up dishes in washing up bowl as no kitchen sink .only washing basin in bathroom..

"Kind and welcoming and super cosy :)"

The people were absolutely lovely and kind and I loved the log burner! Poor Martin had to keep supplying me with firewood!

Nothing. I miss being there.

"Cosy and quiet little place to stay to escape from the real world."

10.0

Lovely little place. Just a quick one night pre-Christmas stay for us. Very quiet and comfortable. There’s a log burner which makes it cosy and if you’ve ever stayed in a French gite it feels a bit like that. Ample electric heaters to supplement the fire and a microwave, fridge, coffee machine etc to make it easy to self cater if you don’t want to venture out. Woke to chickens outside the door and went for a little walk to explore before we left. Comfortable bed and nice decor. If you want an escape from the busy world this is very much recommended. There is wifi if you need to remain in contact with reality but we really enjoyed our stay here. Thanks Martin for all the thoughtful and cosy details.

"Relaxing and cozy two day break the log burner was amazing"

8.0

Quiet and cozy and for a couple of nights relaxation.

Even though we were told the fact we had to turn all electricity supplies off as they tripped the shower whilst in use. Also no sharp knife to cut our bread..

"Cosy country getaway with beautiful natural surroundings"

10.0

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, to relax and get away from our busy everyday lives. Our scores are based on our expectations from the property description. Just because we scored this a 10, you can't expect the same features as a luxury hotel, but saying that it had everything we needed. The log fire, which Martin had lit before we arrived, kept the place lovely and warm and cosy. Sitting in the peace and quiet listening and watching the flames on a damp and dark November evening was lovely. There's a small living room, with a large selection of books, games and stationary to keep you occupied. The bedroom is lovely, the bed very comfortable and you look out onto a field of sheep. Coming from a town, you really appreciate the complete darkness at night. Everything you need is in the clean and good sized bathroom, plus lots of extras such as toothpaste, toothbrush, razors, plasters, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairdryer and straighteners. Although there isn't a kitchen, for a couple of nights away this isn't really a problem. There is a counter top fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine with a choice of pods (although maybe a couple of hot chocolate ones could go down a treat for non-coffee drinkers like me), plenty of cups, glasses, plates, bowls, cutlery...even a whole picnic basket. The worktop space is a little tight, but all useable. The apple juice was lovely too. The chalet is on a working farm / orchard and it is in the middle of the farm buildings. This being said, we didn't have any issues with noise, only the odd voice when passing by and you can hear the chickens in the morning which just reminds you where you are ;) You can walk through the very large orchard and into the surrounding woodland which is lovely. There are surrounding fields, one that has horses and there are 3 pubs all within walking distance, plus Bodiam Castle. Lulu the cat may even join you on your walk!

Everything was as described and more. Martin had thought of lots of extra touches to go beyond what we expected from the description. My review would have been longer if it allowed more space! I suppose our only tip would be to make sure you arrive in old shoes if it is wet, as although you can park very close to the chalet, it is very muddy. On a different note, as we ran out of space above, the photos of the chalet in the description already show everything you need to know and are accurate. The only difference is there is a new sink in the bathroom, not the avocado one that can be seen in the photos. Our photos are mainly of the outside space as this has to be enjoyed if you visit. It was misty and damp when we were there but on a crisp dry winter's day, or in spring or summer when the flowers would be out, this would be even better. Putting the Chalet to one side, if you were looking for outdoor space for school activities, college training, scouts activity days or bushcraft sessions, this would be the place to go and I'm sure Martin would be happy to discuss. He is passionate about how to use this land and the opportunities it could bring to other children, young people and adults. Alternatively, just a great place to introduce children to nature, to play in the leaves, build shelters from the sticks and fallen branches, find bugs, listen for birds and just enjoy the fresh air and nature rather than a bedroom and a tablet ;)
