The Penthouse at Mercers Croft

The location was exception, central to everything and lovely to be able to drop our stuff off at home before going to a show in the evening. The price was amazing especially considering the amount of space that we had, as a couple and my sister traveling together it was lovely to have out own rooms and bathrooms allowing for a bit of privacy. The living space was very spacious with lots of room to hang out. Lots of beautiful features from a stunning old building. Access was easy into the building, the instructions were simple to follow and it felt very safe as there were bright motion sensor lights guiding you to the apartment. Would happily stay again and have already recommended to others.

There was no hand soap in either of the bathrooms which seemed odd given that they provided dish soap and dish washer tablets. I have never stayed somewhere where I am expected to provide my own hand soap. The windows are stunning put provide no sound proofing, I would either make note of this on the advert advising people to bring ear plugs or providing ear plugs for my guests. Finally the living room is so big and spacious with a table for 4, however there is only on medium sofa and a desk chair, we would have like to have slightly more cozy seating in the living room.

Location perfect for the theatre, facilities excellent for us - we don't cook at all and it's surrounded by restaurants.

When we stayed last year I commented (I think) that the tap in the 'family' bathroom needed attention - it is still exactly the same. The living room could do with another chair, otherwise it's brilliant. It would be good if you could get rid of the gap under the outside door - there was a pigeon in the stairwell all the time and I'm scared of birds!!! It probably doesn't bother other people at all.

Location was excellent! Really spacious apartment! Double room and ensuite was lovely! Bathroom was very good. Kitchen had all the facilities needed. Great value!

Twin beds were very small and not very comfy! Twin room needed a hoover when we pulled the beds apart. Lots of crumbs/dirt etc under cushions on sofa!

Great location close to everything in the town. Lovely old building, but contemporary inside, plenty of room with good facilities.

No problem for us but you do need to go up a metal staircase to get to the 1st floor apartment, so could be a problem if carrying stuff or have a disability.

The location is fantastic. The apartment is surprisingly large and is lovely.

As a few other people have mentioned, the windows( which look lovely) are not the best for soundproofing noise from the steel below. However, it was perfectly fine as long as you bring your earplugs!

Very central location in town centre and very handy for the RSC Theatre. Spacious and comfortable. It was nice and warm.

Describing the property as having an outside seating area is strictly speaking true, but there's a reason that they don't give any pictures of it. It's tiny, enclosed of 3 sides and clearly a popular haunt for the pigeons!
