The Upper House

Martha was amazing! The property was beautifully decorated, clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend it to a friend!

Everything! This was the most wonderful place to stay while visiting Cinque Terre! I wish we could have stayed longer and can't wait to come back! Martha was absolutely incredible - offering recommendations for restaurants, help with reservations, and loads of information. The Upper House itself is magnificent - the views are not to be believed and everything was spotless! There were lots of stairs to get there but that didn't matter because it was worth every step!!

There was nothing I would change! This was a perfect place to stay!!

The Upper House was amazing. The rooms are all recently redone with many upscale amenities. The views were incredible off of the balconies. Martha is an meticulous hostess! She met us the first day and provided a 'tutorial' on Cinque Terre - her love for the region shines through. She gave us a wonderful restaurant recommendation (and even made our reservations for us!). I would recommend the Upper House for anyone from couples to a big group (like us!) (there are lot of stairs - you will get your 'steps' in:))

It was a bit chilly in the room and noisy in the mornings.

Martha greeted us and walked us through understanding how to make the best use of the apartment, and also gave us some great tips/ideas for how to spend our precious, limited time in Cinque Terre. The apartment itself is gorgeous and the view of Riomaggiore is so awesome to have!

We liked everything!

Martha was such a wonderful host in every way. From the greeting to the checkout, she paid considerate attention to us by taking care of parking garage and ZTL, itineraries, restaurant reservations, amenities and so on. She made our trip to Cinque Terre extraordinary. I wish all the hosts in boutique hotels were like her.

Our stay at The Upper House was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Martha is the perfect host - communicative, friendly, and so, so helpful. Her place was amazing - great space (especially the amazing shower!), amazing view, and easy to access the town. The property had it all - slippers for in the room, ample towels, mini toiletries, coffee/tea, a mini fridge with a few welcome beers/wine, beach towel, umbrella, and well labeled maps for getting around Cinque Terre! Martha is what makes the place special though - her assistance in booking a sunset boat tour and a pasta cooking class made our trip so special. We will be back!!
