We had an amazing stay in Riomaggiore and couldn’t have asked for a better location, host or accommodation. The location itself was breathtaking with gorgeous views of Riomaggiore. Our host Martha was a dream and presented excellent options of things to do, see and eat not only in Riomaggiore but across the Cinque Terre. Communication was outstanding and all instructions provided ahead of our stay made it a seamless experience. The accommodation was beautiful, spacious, spotless and incredibly comfortable. Everything had been thought of to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We can’t wait to go back!

The Upper House was my first stop on my first solo international trip. I was beyond impressed with the service provided by Martha. I felt very comfortable during my stay, Martha spent time with me when I first arrived to teach me how the passes work in Cinque Terre, as well as giving me her top recommendations on what to do during my stay, helping me make the most of the 3 days I had in Cinque Terre. She made it known she would be available for any questions I had, and she was very helpful and responsive when I did ask for help. The accommodation was clean, very modern and had lots of nice touches; like a coffee machine, mini fridge stocked with complimentary snacks and beverages and a map of all the sights to see in Cinque Terre (which Martha kindly talked through with me). I would highly recommend all to stay at The Upper House!

Martha was an excellent host - she met us on our first day and helped plan our trip in Cinque Terre, including recommending a sunset boat tour which was AMAZING. Could not recommend this accommodation more - it really made our trip really special.

The room was very modern, recently updated and had a fantastic view overlooking the Riomaggiore harbor. The host - Martha - was amazing in her communication with us leading to our stay, got us checked in early so we could have access to the elevators, and helped us reserve a sunset cruise which was amazing. Once we arrived, Martha helped us to the room, spent 30 minutes explaining everything we needed to know about the facility, the area and how to get around. My wife and I couldn’t have asked for a better location or better host. It is a bit of a hike to get to the room, though Martha will get you access to elevators to make the climb significantly easier (the property is called the Upper House for a reason) and provides an excellent video so you know where to turn. If you have heavy bags, or a lot of them, Martha will offer a porter service that I’d recommend. We will be returning again for sure.

Clean and new. Well kept. Martha is knowledgeable about every detail of every part of the town and will make arrangements and help with all aspects of the stay. Wonderful to have her support. Quiet and reasonably close to elevator and key parts of town.

Walking up hill and stairs a lot to get there. It was super hot and they made some of the ascending more challenging. Property itself was terrific. There are two public elevators that make it easier. But be ready to walk up hills and stairs often.
