Sea Shell Hotel

Great location, £38 per night on a warm weekend is a steal! Ryanair standards but bedding was clean.

It is a little bit dirty here and there. Dont expect a 5 star room. But it was good for what it was

The location is great. Very convenient for the town centre and the seafront.

Upon arrival we case clothes hanging in front of the building and a broken window. That set the tone for everything else. There was no one at the reception. No one picked up the phone for a while and then someone who clearly just opened their eyes picked up and said that someone else will come to check us in… Whilst we were waiting, a young adult who clearly has something to do with the owners stormed in the place with scratches in his face shouting something in Arabic about fighting… We were still waiting and after calling a few more times the same person who answered earlier came to the door barefoot and passed the phone to speak with someone on the other side. They gave us the same room on the ground floor with the broken window and when we complained they said that someone is coming to fix it the same or the next day!? WTF!!! Moved us to another room, which clearly wasn’t cleaned after the previous guests with hairs on the bed and lots of stains. Overall very dirty place.

Excellent location close to the seafront and theatres.

While the price per night represented good value, I would expect a higher standard of basic accommodation. The room and bathroom showed significant signs of wear, including peeling paint, unreplaced access panels and dirty toilet. General lighting in the main corridors were failing and not replaced during our stay. All in all indicating a lack of general maintenance, disappointing due to the excellent location this accommodation brings in the lovely seaside location of Eastbourne.

Near to beach and theatreland. Not far from station either. Clean and tidy. Not expensive

Staff functional rather than welcoming.
