The Sails at Durban Waterfront

Perfect location, friendliest staff and host. We really enjoyed ourselves. This place is a MUST visit again!

We tried to use the oven and it wasn't cleaned well. The oven grilling rack/shelve had rust on it, must get replaced. Other than that, all was good.

Strict and weird rules, strictly no visitors and I was uncomfortable having to send my Identity documents

The fact that I was not allowed visitors..As per the staff visitors are allowed but the host refused for me to have visitors..As I came from joburg so my family could not visit me..I had to make other arrangements..so this was a waste of money to book at this location.Only after I booked I was notified I could not have visitors..which was only 2 adults nd 2 kids..they were not going to stay jus visit for maybe an hour or so..thank u

I did not like anything about the property because I arrived at 9pm soon after there was load shading

I didn’t like unfriendlynes of the staff especially the agency that I was dealing with. It so shameful that we have thieves in booking.com as agency. I booked at 7pm unfortunately I was travelling with an infant and had a lot of luggage so I couldn’t communicate until I reached the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel they asking me to talk to my agent. I called him to ask for the key and he told me to send documents which I didn’t have in hand however I had my passport. My battery ran out and lost connection with him for 2 hours because I was asking other houseguest to help me since the reception I couldn’t help me charge. I have an infant of 7 months super heavy. The reception couldn’t offer me a chair. I am a genuine customer with booking.com I never expected such treatment. I got help from other houseguest than I got in touch with the agent to give me the house keys, he than demanded a R500 deposit incase of demages of which I paid but still no keys where given to me. I than called the agent as frustrated a he told me to come down and apologise for shouting I told the agent it was the frustration because I need to put my baby to sleep. He cut the call on me and didn’t answer the call. I than called my husband to come to The sails to assist me because again my battery was dying. I arrived at 8pm the time my husband arrived was 10pm. He called the agent. The agent than demanded another R500 for 3 people being present yet I booked for 2. He told my husband that, the R500 paid won’t be returned due to an extra guest. I have never been so disappointed in my life. When we reached the hotel we experienced load shedding, I couldn’t make my baby food it was horrible experience. I will never use booking.con ever again because such people shouldn’t be employed. People who don’t have courtesy. He didn’t even come to the hotel reception to try and figure out what going on. I would appreciate if someone replied to this or try to communicate with me
