Blue Bell Hotel

Location. Food was good.

Bar service was poor. In need of some investment in upgrading rooms

Comfortable bed. Adequate lighting. Adequate bathroom. Quiet. Pleasant staff. Nice ambience. Good hot breakfast buffet on one of the three days, but no eggs one day and no fruit apart from a few bananas. Much of breakfast not brought out until 20-30 minutes after starting time.

Seriously understaffed. One woman i/c seating, orders, waiting at table, running the bar and reception. Only one chair in a double room. Menu in room didn't match menu at table, and half the desserts were 'off'. No breakfast menu, and very variable from day to day. No fruit. No shelf in the bathroom. Noisy tin trays for bedside tables.

Food portions were generous. The barman was friendly and a great location 15 mins from Bamburgh castle.

Several of the light bulbs needed replaceing Restaurant closes early last orders about 745. Usefull to know when planning long distance travel.

Great value stay over 4 nights Comfy bed. Good staff, especially James, who was friendly and very efficient dealing with any issues we had.

Shower scalding and couldn’t control the temperature.

The hotel was in a great location and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and adequate for our needs. The evening meal was good.

The hotel decor looks tired and the public areas could have done with a clean.
