Helly mount inn

We had a truly wonderful time at Helly Mount Inn. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed – in the afternoon, we were even served tea, coffee, and cookies, which was such a lovely and thoughtful gesture. 🫖🍪 The owner and his family took care of us with so much kindness and attention. We instantly felt at home. He gave us plenty of helpful tips on what to do in Ella, even sending pictures and recommendations to make sure we didn’t miss anything. Whether we needed transport, activity suggestions, or local insights, he was always available and genuinely caring. The place itself was very clean, peaceful, and had a great view. We can wholeheartedly recommend staying here – it was one of our best experiences in Sri Lanka. ❤️ Thank you so much for everything!

Pasamos una estancia maravillosa en este alojamiento en plena montaña. El entorno es precioso, rodeado de naturaleza y con unas vistas que invitan a desconectar por completo. Pero sin duda lo mejor fue la familia que lo gestiona: gente humilde, muy amable, siempre dispuesta a ayudar en todo lo que necesitáramos. Nos hicieron sentir como en casa desde el primer momento. Una experiencia muy auténtica y humana que recordaremos con mucho cariño. ¡Gracias por todo!

Gospodarz bardzo uprzejmy, miły i pomocny. Zorganizował nam wycieczkę swoim tuktukiem na plantacje herbaty i najważniejsze punkty na Sri lance. Pokój czysty, łóżko wygodne, wiatrak dostępny w pokoju wraz z czajnikiem. Niesamowity widok z prywatnego balkonu na którym również było serwowane śniadanie. Polecamy każdemu. In the room, there was a smell of mold. The bathroom was really big. The location wasn’t so good, not so beautifull view like in another accomodation in Ella. But owner is a good person, very friendly and kind, he brought tea for us when we came and also when we arrived from trip. He woke up early in the morning about 3am to go with us down to the street because we had transfer to Yala for the next day. Thank you.

Such a beautiful place to wake up. The sun streams in and you can watch the sunrise from your room. The mosquito net covers the bed properly, the fan is good to keep you cool and the room feels super private. However, it's the hospitality that secures this place top marks. They were willing to do anything to help or accommodate us! Picked us up from the bus stop, brought us tea whenever we got home and brekky was delicious every day. The homestay is about a 20 min walk from town up a hill but it's easy to do and gives it the most amazing view.

Everything was amazing! This was the best family to stay so far. That was the most delicious breakfast which we had! Stunning view, we could see waterfall from a balcony. Also in the morning, we spotted few monkeys and wild deer! Super helpful and caring family. We want to give huge thanks for everything they did for us! If we are ever back to Ella, we will definitely be back and recommend everyone to stay with them. We also took a tour around Ella with them and visited waterfalls, view points, nine arch bridge and temple. 1000/10 Just simple the best! Spacious room, fan, hair drying everything was as described.

To see the sun rise very suitable place.... close to the Ella town. Breakfast is very delicious 😋. Good service 👌👌. Everything is good 😊.

If you are looking for a great view, delicious breakfast, the comfiest bed to sleep on then you’ll find it at this beautiful mountain-side oasis. Mahesh couldn’t have made things easier with helping ease of pickups and drop offs thanks to his easygoing, professional manner. You’ll be well looked after with Mahesh’s excellent service. I took the tuktuk tour and that was definitely worth it for what we got to see and do in the day (9 Arches with morning train, Little Adam’s Peak, Ravena Cave and Waterfall, finishing off with a sweet dip at Pallewela Waterfalls which was my favourite.

For the time I stayed, 2 days, it was perfect. Recommended to travellers looking for a bit of quiet and relaxation away from the town centre.

The view from the room is very nice.

The view is amazing. Mahesh and his dad are very hard working and will do their best to make sure you have a good time. The room is quite large. You can enjoy perfect seclusion.

There is a bit of an uphill path to the accommodation which can be challenging for some.
