Unfriendly staff, dirty room, a bed that didn’t fit the frame & the cheapest mattress known. Pipes coming out the floor in the bathroom with stains all over the floor.

I booked an accessible room and everything was very comfortable, with helpful safety bars in the bathroom. The lower bed was also really good. The room was very quiet and the bed was comfy. I slept as well as I ever have in a hotel. Everything was very clean. The staff were pleasant and helpful I did not have breakfast, so cannot comment on the food - this is the only reason I did not give it a 10

In the middle of reservation , bar open but unmanned waited 20 minutes for a staff member.She shut the bar at 9.30 as i was the only one in it. Fire alarms went off twice during stay 5am no one to meet us in the car park . Looked at us as of we were daft when we walked back in . What we did like was the breakfast the chef was very accommodating.

Since i have been home i got sent a car park fine for £35 for using the hotel car park . They don’t answer there emails so i will need to phone them . Fawlty Towers comes to mind

The King Suite was a very generous size and bed was comfortable and room was clean. The evening meal we had in the restaurant was really good and the lady on the bar was lovely.

The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, the door lock had been removed (card access but no room lock), the tea/coffee tray didn't have any teaspoons or saucers, stains on ceiling, hard flooring not carpet, one electric socket wasn't working and looked a bit loose, another we had plugged a fan into but that turned off when we turned off the main light - odd, still worked in a different plug. On arrival you had to make a telephone call for a staff member. There were very few people staying there and although the bar and food was good that was also empty on the Friday night apart from one other couple who came in for a drink - staying had a strange feeling to it, like the hotel people forgot about! The building has so much potential and now under a new chain ownership with a bit or refurbishment and promotion it could be restored to what I imagine was a really good hotel a few years ago.

Large spacious room , comfortable bed.

Room was too hot had a very small fan , when asked if we could have another they didn't have one. . Also 6 week later got a parking ticket for the carpark despite checking in and asked staff if they needed our registration for the carpark and they said no. I am now disputing the parking fine due to this not being of any fault of my own .

The room was big and in a good location.

Bathroom drains stank, one of the front receptionist was useless offered next to no help and just sat glued to his phone the whole time. Whilst having breakfast someone was allowed to do a full blown yoga session in the same room, playing YouTube full blast whilst we’re trying to eat a breakfast that they couldn’t tell us if the veggie meat had any gluten in. Not the one, thank you marv (younger receptionists) very helpful and good at his job. Keep hold of him
