Sherwood Castle by Liv Retreats

It was quiet and tranquil. Good location, easy to find, and only a short drive to the shops. There are good walks nearby and CCTV around, so I felt safe.

Property could do with an update, was looking tired and leaking shower was annoying. The hot tub was excellent although not private the fence needs to be higher as this lodge is on an incline and could be seen by lodge adjacent

The location in the woods is magnificent

Some of the on site facilities playgrounds, leisure/sports center could be better maintained

On first depressions was okay

We got into the cabin. My wife was looking around then she opened the bathroom door and a rat come out. contacted Booking.com we was meant to stay there tonight we didn’t end up staying and they are not giving us a refund. I would stay far away from this place.

We were given an extra lodge as the lodge we had was bumpbeds and we could not use the bumpbeds

It was a lovely lodge cabin and a great hot tub, very clean

Very good location and the hot tub was good as well. I loved the fact we weren't all crammed into one space and had some privacy due to this. Fun facilities and nice scenery lots of convinience such as parking, the toiletries towels provided as well as the cutlery the hot tub/jacuzzi etc. was nice scenery so was fun to enjoy this and to walk around. I think if this place advertised right they would smash it and be fully booked all the time, most staff were friendly and would say hello and ask if everything was okay if they were passing by which I thought was great. I loved the BBQ stoves outside as this allowed us to have a proper camping style trip there is much more too such as swimming pool and activities such as tennis, badminton, 8 ball pool and much more they were all fun to do and visit for sure!

There were spiders in our room as well as a few cob webs definitely could have done with a dusting. (This is not exaggeration either as I am not a clean freak myself) I am sure our bedding was not changed as there were black marks on them so we had to put extra covers from the other beds on there to mask this. The bed wasn't the comfiest I'm sure it was smaller than double but bigger than single. The booking also mentioned a bath tub which was not there was not really bothered about this as the hot tub/jacuzzi was great but would have been nice to soak in the bath after being in that instead of a stand up shower. What really ruined the trip for me was the timings. Check in is at 16:00 but check out times aren't the same so I was woken up at 10am and basically got told to wake up and leave like I was the guys apprentice working for him or something lol. What was worse is they only wanted us to leave so they could empty the hot tub out but it just doesn't make sense to have check in times at 4pm then expect guests to be checked out by 10/11am I understand rooms need cleaning out again but if that's the case then check out times should be same I got asked if I had let reception know but there was nobody on reception after we'd checked in so not sure how this would have been sorted. Didn't worry about being a Karen and taking photos as I was there to relax not to examine the place but just something to be mindful of if you have a short stay.

Hotel tubs were clean and kept on top of.

All facilities run down need upgrading not much to do for kids due to the parks being out of order or broke .

Nice location, hot tub was good. Easy to access.

Facilities very old/ run down/ broken or dirty e.g. ‘sports hall’ - tired and taped off. The lodge was very limited e.g. not even a tea towel provided, tables and bed were crooked/ fence was broken. Bathroom was old and shower needed replacing.
