Imperial Swan Hotel and Suites Lakeland

Hotel was under state code violation and shutdown. Still booking rooms, and taking people's money. When we arrived to find hotel shutdown. I called and talked to someone in booking, they sent me to front deck knowing no one there (I told them this). For me to call back to be hung up on 4 more times. Had to call bank to do stop payment. Never again will I book over the phone or with booking.com I rather take my chances when I get to my destination or get an airbnb.

It was condemned. I’m more mad about getting screwed out do money though. I was told by multiple customer service employees from booking.com that they would cover the cost of putting me in a new hotel. They sent me links to different ones and said choose any. I chose a 250 dollar hotel and now I have to pay for all but $50, so I basically just gave the company more money for making me sit in the side of the road for hours while they figured that out

It wasn’t even open to public didn’t even stay at the place

I felt the staff was very kind and did the best they could, it seemed like they were working hard overnight replacing things in rooms and trying to keep up the best they could in an outdated hotel past it's prime maybe a little over their means but everyone was kind and seemed to be doing what they can

There was mold and wet spots on the floor from old sinks and tubs, the TV only had digital bunny ears so no cable and halls had some of appliances and beds that had been pulled from rooms but I don't want to complain to much because it seemed like the staff was working on it overnight
