Sunset Plaza Beach Resort Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive

The staff were fantastic. Everyone was super kind and helpful. They provided a friendly customer service experience, and were very patient with me as I fumbled over speaking Spanish to order food or drinks. The building and rooms were very clean. Check-in and out was a breeze. They have on-site laundry machines that guests can use if they don’t want the formal laundry service. There is no buffet! Which is preferred for food safety. Each restaurant cooks meals fresh. There are 3 restaurants, 1 cafe, 1 pool bar (with its own lunch menu), and 1 bar/lounge. One of the restaurants was not open during my stay (the flatbread pizza restaurant) because it wasn’t busy enough yet for 3 restaurants. The tennis court on-site was nice to have. It was in rough shape - pure concrete slab (no rubberized coating) and divots everywhere in the surface, making balls ricochet with every bounce. It’s fine for a light rally session. It’s not suitable for a match. However, I’m happy that there was a court to play on at all. My partner enjoyed the gym facilities. There was enough variety of equipment for a good workout.

The food is hit or miss. Some meals were absolutely delicious, but many were average or below average. They rotate cuisines in the main restaurant every day (one day is Mexican, another is International, another is “Oriental”, etc). Any cuisine that wasn’t their own was where the average meals came in. The cafe made nice lattes, and the pastries were good. They seem to prepare most desserts on site. They sit out for days it seems, as a number of times, the pastries were fairly stale. They need more umbrellas for the pool loungers. There isn’t enough. Guests have to secure a lounger at 8am if they want shade, or they aren’t getting one. It’s still early in the tourist season, and it was already a difficult competition to get shaded loungers. Every lounger set should have an umbrella. If folks want sun, then they can close theirs.

The service was amazing!! Miguel was our Butler and he was amazing! Luis and Jorge were our favorites in the pool and restaurant!! They made up for what the facility lacked!

Hotel: Hotel teilweise in Renovierung. Renovierungsstau im ganzen Hotel sichtbar und sehr abgewohnt. Kein Vergleich zu Hotel in der Karibik. Strand: Strand extrem verschmutzt im Vergleich zu anderen Hotel Stränden Wasser trüb und verschmutzt. All inclusive: eine Weinsorte zur Auswahl! Namhafte Getränke ( premiummarken) nicht inkl. Rezeption unfreundlich, kein Dank für den Aufenthalt usw. Restaurant: Speisen und Gerichte gut. Niemals 5* Niveau.
