The Little House

This little place is unexpected treasure, the apartment has everything you need for a very comfortable stay, its so clean and fresh, there was coffee tea fresh milk eggs, we couldnt ask for anything more,just perfect, thank you Rachel 😊 ps, the bed is so comfy !

Only stayed 1 night, wish we had more time there,

This tiny property is superbly equipped with everything one needs, all of high quality, and wonderfully quiet. Dog welcoming too. Lots of thought and attention to detail has gone into it. Very comfortable bed, perfect for two people. Rachel is a charming and attentive host, who clearly has excellent taste. She is highly efficient too. Great location for exploring the beautiful north Pennines, and Cotherstone is a lovely village with an excellent and cosy pub, serving good food.

A microwave would have been a useful extra, but not essential and there isn't really room for one! Also, although it's just possible to drive to the door the lane is extremely narrow with a right angled bend in it; requires skill and patience if you have anything other than a small car.! But parking on the road very nearby is fine.

Location, comfort and facilities.

Really nice stay in a quiet location. Fresh milk and eggs was a nice touch. Much better than UHT packs. Really comfy bed and couch.

Lovely little self contained apartment. Bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Everything you could want.

Only a small place but designed very well to accommodate needs. Kitchen is well equipped, shower was fab and bed very comfortable. Milk and eggs were provided, which was a nice touch. There are books and board games available to use too. The room was warm and welcoming. This little house is a great base for exploring a beautiful area, whether walking or shopping - Barnard Castle has many independent and chain shops plus a plethora of little cafes and bakeries to give you a treat. In Cotherstone village you can find a small shop and cafe in the old chapel, where breakfast was very good. Also 2 pubs to choose from but only one serving food. The Little House is also dog friendly at a small charge. Really enjoyed our short stay here.

It would be a nice touch to have a few dog treats for guests with their pets.

Very neat, tidy and tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed for a short stay and Cotherstone village is beautiful!
