The Elias Resort

We stayed in room 1 which was a quick and easy to access from the parking area. The room was neat and clean. A few bugs here and there which I assume is common because of the area and thatched roof.

Very little toiletry offering. One of the towels was not in good condition. It was undone at its seam and had a hole in it. Our room seemed to be close to the common outdoor social area. At 9 there was already loud music playing which was unpleasant and shocking to experience. Staff attended to my request to give notice that it’s too loud and the volume was turned down slightly but less than an hour later it was on full blast again. So that’s disappointing. As out of town visitors I wouldn’t recommend a lengthy stay. 1 day is enough. It seems like a common place for locals to come and have fun so a short stay is best. Also we kept experiencing power outages with no explanation. There’s no indication of a secondary power supply. There’s no wifi for guests. You can see wifi is available but even with a password, we could not connect. I barely had network through my own service provider.

The reception lady was very friendly. The rooms are not bad, clean and we had hot water. After we took a walk around by ourselves, we realize that there are about 4 swimming pools and really nice views. Parking spots were good. It's a good place to visit and spend couple of nights, if you are traveling to Makhado or surrounding areas.

No one showed us where to find the pools, nothing. Only had 2 towels, no hand towels, no mat by the shower to step on, the bar fridge was not working. The DST WAS NOT PAID, had to find this out from the security, because reception closes at 5...in a resort?? The noise on Saturday was mad loud, apparently at VVIP they host parties every Saturday. The place has such beautiful gardens and pools, but the loud music and parties took so much away from the peaceful nature.

We did not have breakfast on the property. Property is central, however you do drive in gravel for 10min

Reception opens at 8am and closes at 5pm. This was unfortunate because no one was ever there to assist when we had issues. We paid for a garden facing room, all the rooms were the same. We request a hand towel and were told you only her 1 body towel per person in each room and no hand towels to wipe your hands. Room 7s shower head was blocked. Patio lights do not switch off so you have a light constantly shinning through the window at night.

No towels, they don't take calls, cleaning staff make noise in the morning.. The whole facility need maintenance it's bit neglected from the reception desk..

We requested tea bags like we normally find in the room. We were promised on Friday until we left on Sunday. Nothing delivered.

It was nice and beautiful.

Outside there was water next to the door, the was lot of dead insects and hair on the Bed.
