Cosy character cottage in central Marlborough UK

Beautiful cottage very tastefully furnished. Very comfortable and cosy, well equipped with a lovely big bedroom. Fabulous location, just around the corner from the high street.

Enjoyed staying in this cute old cottage. It was clean, nice kitchen, comfortable bed. Ceilings are low and doorway to the kitchen and bath is extremely low, not unexpected in such an old cottage. Stairs to the bath are very narrow, seemed safer to come down backwards. If you have mobility issues probably not for you.

Very close to centre. Personal touches - pint of milk, welcome sheet, biscuits, bottled water, ground coffee. Well equipped. Nicely decorated.

The stairs up to bathroom very small and low roof. Being 6 foot was a challenge but to be expected in a 400 year old cottage. Not fault of owner.

Extremely well equipped great central location and surprisingly quiet . Double glazing helped here. We could not believe how much J had got into the kitchen and everything we used was high quality and it worked. Heated towel rail was a bonus for drying minor washing overnight . Nice touches were coffee tea and milk at least 2 USB adapters and the 1605 acknowledgment! Also owner very receptive to fix anything or make improvements (we suggested a folding clothes horse).

Getting used to 17th century quirkiness . I booked December knowing this would be high season since that time I injured one knee. The property has 2 sets of stairs which were a challenge! Parking required imagination but as I get used to England I realise a suburban Australian has a very different expectation. Incidentally some Aussies live nearby in Wilton another great attraction is the 210 year old steam pumps at crofton which were working !!!!!
