There was a washer and dryer which is convenient. Use of entire home.

Only one small pot to cook when it was advertised that by renting the entire house everything was provided to cook. Very steep stairs for the second level which makes it difficult for older folks.

The home was airy and enough room for 3 people. the separate toilets, sinks and bath made it convenient for everyone. The house was clean and had everything we needed. There was a washing machine, iron. The ironing board was broken (legs would not stay in place)

Our flight arrived late evening and we had to walk a long way to the hotel to collect the keys and then they drove us to the Machiya. So the check in process was not fun. Check out, they allowed us to keep bags back at their nearby hotel. But if they brought it to the hotel, they were going to charge JPY 500 PER BAG. So on our last day we took a taxi to their hotel, dropped the bags off. I feel for a small service, they could offer a bag transfer. And for late check in, they could offer a lock box (Japan is one of the safest countries) or offer a key pad lock. There are ways to make the process easier. The location is on a pleasant quiet street and it is a 10 min walk to the nearest subway station. It is not that far, but I would have preferred to be closer to a station. Also cleaning is every other day. This makes sense. But why only leave 4 coffee pods for 3 people knowing you would only be back in 2 days? Why not leave 6 or even more? So every other morning we did not have coffee in the machiya but we went out. We could have purchased pods on our own; but it actually did not occur to me as we had to leave every morning early for our meetings.

We love the property. It’s amazing in every aspect.

Nothing. We would recommend the outdoor bath to enhance the experience.

We liked all of the property

The setup is very nice, the whole family can stay in the same place. the living room setup is also good for family to get together. The facilities such as fridge, the washer and so on are very good.

we can see that the chef has put in a lot of effort to prepare for the breakfast. I do think it is a very good breakfast too. having said that, I believe the breakfast is very traditional Japanese. Some of the kids and elerly may prefer something different. They have tried and haven't finished those. I believe it is a good experience to try out the authentic japanese breakfast, if I visit again, i will only order 1 or 2 to taste those instead of one for every member. Secondly, if there is any internal TV channels available, that will be a lot better. Thirdly, the shower room has no lock, i would suggest to have one. lastly, the sound proof can be better. I could hear people talking in other room of the facility.

Had to wear outside shoes in the kitchen area. Had to wear shoes to reach the tub/shower area also.
