The Stroud Hotel

קרבה לשוק האיכרים של יום שבת.

היינו לילה אחד, ובכל זאת...: 1. היו לנו שני חדרים בקומה הראשונה: אחד היה צמוד לגרם מדרגות חיצוני, כך שלא נתן תחושת בטחון ופרטיות. חדר שני פנה לסוג של פיר פנימי. 2. בניגוד למלונות אחרים, כאן לא היו בחדרים מי שתיה, ולא ראיתי מיזוג או מאוורר בחדרים שלנו (היינו באנגליה במזג אוויר חם). 3. אין מעלית, ויש גרם מדרגות ארוך שמוביל לחדרים בקומה הראשונה. אנחנו הסתדרנו, אך יכול להוות קושי למי שצריך לשאת את המזוודות שלו. 4. מוגדר כמלון 4 כוכבים, אבל לדעתי הוא ממש לא. 5. האיזור מול תחנת הרכבת של סטראוד מאד שונה בין הבוקר לערב. פחות נעים להסתובב בערב. 6. חניה מוגבלת.

The location is ideal with the Hotel opposite the train station and close to the town. The hotel is comfy, lovely rooms and a welcoming bar.

I tried to book x3 breakfasts at £16.95 as advertised on the booking site but was told it would cost £20 each instead. I queried this and was told I should have booked the breakfasts at the same time as reserving the rooms. The chap on reception said he was the manager and wouldn't budge. Not impressed. Not to worry, as we went around the corner to the Wetherspoons and had a cracking breakfast for half the price. I would also query why last orders were called at the bar at 10.15pm when there were at least 12 people still present.

Very close to all the things I needed to do and easy to get to trains.

Bathtub could use a handrail or stool to get in and out. I’m only 5 ft 1 inches. Hairdryer didn’t work. Thank goodness I brought my own.
