The South Promenade apartment

Gezellige living room. Leuk stadje aan zee.

Great location, comfortable and nice views. Supermarket and amenities all in walking distance. Tea and coffee supplied. The bed was comfy!

We were a bit disappointed on entry, as the wooden bannister is split and taped together. The paint is peeling up the walls and the front door doesn't open fully, which is tricky when you've got bags. The other reviews stated they received some basic groceries, like bread and milk, but we did not and had to go back out. There was some old butter left. Also no board games or fan as advertised. We were given incorrect instructions on using the hot water/heating but figured it out, although we could not get hot water to wash up. The soap dispenser in the bathroom had brown sludge coming out. Did mention it to the host, and he apologised.

There were no drawers in the bedroom so we couldn't unpack our clothes during our stay. No hot water came through even after running for a long time so we had to boil water in a kettle. The furniture was cheap and not smart looking. The front door was shabby. The foyer inside the front door was shabby with paint peeling off the walls. No pictures in the apartment so looks very basic.

-De communicatie met de eigenaars was top. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. -Er was gezorgd voor koffie en thee, plus nog een paar aardigheidjes. Peper en zout waren ook aanwezig. -Koken op inductie ging perfect -Er waren een paar gezelschapsspellen aanwezig -Prettig bed. We hebben heerlijk geslapen! -Veel lichtinval in de woonkamer

-We wilden de wasmachine gebruiken, maar er zat zwarte schimmel op de rubberen randen, dus toch maar niet gebruikt -Er waren nog wat aangebroken producten van andere gasten achter gelaten, zoals aangebroken boter. Sympathieke geste, maar wij houden daar niet zo van.

The apartment fully matches the description and photos. It is clean, bright, cosy, and offers a beautiful view of the sea and the mountains from the windows. Everything needed for a comfortable family stay was provided – kitchenware, bathroom essentials, board games, TV with Netflix and Disney, and Wi-Fi. We especially appreciated the welcome set with some basic groceries such as milk and butter. The location is very convenient, with a new Lidl just around the corner. The hosts were kind and always available to help.

If one listens carefully, some traffic noise from the nearby road can be noticed, but this is easily outweighed by the excellent value for money.

The property was in a great location beside the sea and near to cafes and restaurants and easy access to the local area .

The road was a bit noisy at times.

Easy to find, free spacious parking, great host communication, quiet seaside location with an easy walk either direction to many dining choices as well as to forest walks in Mourne Mountains. Close to Royal County Down Golf Club. Best of all a washing machine to do a bit of laundry! We could have cooked had we wanted to. Apartment is large, airy and bright with plenty of room to relax.

Perfect location and very welcoming host. Flat was absolutely spotless. My 2 year old loved the crayons and colouring lovely gesture from our host.
