Beautiful Georgian cottage within a private walled garden

Great location and comfortable

Some early morning noise from the Post Office sorting building. Some issues with the heating, such as it reverts to a target temperature of below 10 degrees so the cottage felt cold when we arrived and in the mornings.

Been several times before to this property and it ticks all our requirements. Although it has no immediate car parking, a short walk to the local Council car park is not an issue as you also get included a car parking permit.

Fabulous cottage in a lovely town. We really enjoyed staying in this very clean and well kept property. Well situated in the middle of town.

Loading and unloading and moving the car out to the car park is the only snag.

We found the bed and the lounge sofa very uncomfortable

We had a lovely stay as a family while attending a wedding in the area, and only wish we’d had more time to explore — the village looked so pretty and quaint. The house and garden are full of character and perfectly located right in the heart of the village next to the church. Everything was clean and well cared for. The beds were very comfortable with fresh linen, and there was even extra bedding provided for the fold-out sofa bed in the spare room. The home is tastefully decorated with charming antique and cottage style furniture, yet still felt cosy and equipped with all the modern comforts. It was wonderfully peaceful and relaxing throughout our stay. The downstairs toilet was especially convenient for my elderly nan, and the kitchen and living area made it easy for the whole family to spread out and get ready. Self check-in and key collection were simple, and the hosts were very responsive — quickly helping us with instructions for the heating when needed (which warmed up very quickly). We also really appreciated the thoughtful little touches, like the guest book and welcome biscuits. Parking was straightforward, with paid options across the road from the church and free parking available on Sundays. Overall, a delightful stay in a lovely home — we’d happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The only minor challenge (mostly for my nan) was direct access by car to the outside of the house (though that’s no one’s fault, and we didn't realise this until we got there) — the closest we could get was the little alleyway near the school to drop off our bags and my nan before parking in the nearby car park. But it was a very short walk, so completely manageable :) If I can offer any small constructive suggestions: a little more storage space or a few hooks for hanging longer clothes would be useful, especially in the smaller room. A full-length mirror somewhere in the house would also come in handy.

The house was beautifully decorated and everything was of a high quality and in good condition. The kitchen was very well equipped. It was very comfortable and felt very much 'home from home'

Difficult to find. Had to park around the corner and walk with bags. Rooms at different levels so not great for people with mobility issues. Otherwise, all good

Location was excellent and we were always able to park in the nearby payable car park. Luckily it was a reasonable price. Kitchen well equipped. Bring your own dishwasher tablets! Heating well organised and lots of TV channels. Lots of great eating places within easy walking distance.

We found the bed was far too soft and therefore uncomfortable …. Could just be us!
