Luxurious newly built cottage in central Wivenhoe

Shower over the bath no mat in bath or hand rail very dangerous we could not sit outside broken garden chairs only one plastic plant would be so much better if the garden was finished.

Excellent cottage with enclosed back patio, location great, we took our two dogs for endless walks in local wooded areas, 4 good pubs for food and drink, would definitely recommend

This is a small but modern and very well equipped self-catering cottage in an excellent location, within walking distance of the quay in Wivenhoe. There is a comfortable seating area and a nice table with two chairs at the kitchen end of the room. We found it easy to work the cooker; we did not have to use the washing machine or the dishwasher. There are two TVs for people like us who have different viewing tastes. The one in the bedroom has Netflix, Prime etc. so remember to bring your log-in details. Everything is immaculately clean and finished to a high spec. It is great to have a downstairs loo as well as a bathroom upstairs - we are temporarily without that facility at home, and do miss it. Wonderful comfy bed and great pillows - the best all week, out of five hotels. Very spacious cupboard in the bedroom. I loved it there and would definitely come back again. We did not meet our host, but they were exceptionally efficient with providing the key code and asking how things were going.

There were a lot of road works/road closures nearby when we visited and it was not easy to navigate these in the dark, but that is a time limited issue and nothing to do with the property. My husband (5' 10") did knock his head several times on the lounge light, so perhaps it could do with being set a little higher, but it wasn't a major issue.

Very clean, comfortable cottage, great bathroom and kitchen with everything you need for a weekend stay. There is a great local shop 100m away with a great selection and the village is a short walk away too. We had a lovely stay.

What a beautiful little cottage. It had absolutely everything you could need and more in it. With a lovely bottle of bubbly on arrival and information about the surrounding area as well. It was absolutely spotless.

I couldn’t fault our stay at all. Everything was perfect.

Everything was good

There was no breakfast offered, so can’t answer this. We liked most things apart from the niggling items missing. It is very wrong to use the word ‘Luxurious’ in advertising, as it is not!

Did not get key code until day we got there. We could not access email while on the move. It would be sensible to have received code a day before! There were no parking spaces anywhere, all were taken up by locals or shoppers. There was no shaver point or electric toothbrush point. There was no information pack which would have been handy.
