Zannos Melathron by Omilos Hotels

We met a few other guests staying at the hotel who were also having a terrible experience. Our shared awful experiences helped create a great community feel.

The marketing is all lies, the following does not exist at this property: indoor pool, restaurant, bar, snack bar, spa, spa treatments, edible / hygienic breakfast, reception staff or any staff at all. Our AC didn’t work during the stay, when they got it working it flooded the room. The toilet leaked excrement and the floor was stained. When we asked for it to be fixed, we were told the cleaner would fix it but nothing was ever done. Whenever we raised a complaint we were told a manager would come and speak to us in an hour, that never happened and then all staff suddenly disappeared for the duration of our stay until it was time to check out. We were told we couldn’t get any help with our luggage because the receptionist couldn’t leave reception, however he had no issue being completely vacant all the other days and even left keys out for anyone to take and the computer was logged in so anyone could access other guest details. We would often see our receptionist roaming around town. The safe didn’t have a key, a dead mouse greeted us on entry, along with a lot of dirt, hair and stains from previous visitors, even worse that the cleaner barely visited. A manager was promised multiple times but never showed up. Generally an awful, awful stay.

The rooms were spacious

Where to begin? Complete misrepresentation and rude bordering on aggressive staff (when they were actually there) 1 - The hotel says it has a restaurant and bar facilities. There is nothing on site. The staff were incredibly rude and suggested it does not matter as there are restaurants 'nearby'. I would not have booked this expensive hotel if the owners had not lied about the facilities. We asked to speak to a manager various times but they refused and said they were unavailable. When we asked for compensation they refused. 2 - no indoor pool - another complete fabrication 3 - no wellness centre - complete fabrication 4 - the kitchen facilities where they prepared breakfast is absolutely disgusting. After the first day we did not want breakfast again, which is good because there were no staff at the hotel for us to order it if we wanted it. 5 - broken door handle. I was aggressively told by one of the workers on the first day (only time they were around), that a door handle was not necessary to lock the door and therefore they would not get this fixed.... 6 - the room was only cleaned once during our stay - this comprised the floor being swept. Towels, bedding and bins remained unchanged. This was an extremely disappointing stay. We expected a wonderful hotel with various amenities that simply did not exist. When we spoke to various staff on the first day they were extremely unhelpful and just shrugged their shoulders. They denied that there were any issues when I clearly showed them where they had misled their customers.

Par contre, accès très compliqué pour arriver jusqu’à l’hôtel, impossible de se garer proche de l’établissement. Arrivée de nuit, aucune indication pour trouver l’hôtel. Personne ne connaissait et du moment qu’on a trouvé, on a garé notre Quad, il a fallu marcher 20 minutes en pente avec escalier, très difficile d’accès. Sachez-le avec des valises lourdes qui ont pas tenu le choc à force de prendre des escaliers. La chambre d’hôtel était très belle, par contre remplie de cheveux et des traces de chaussures, sale par terre, à l’entrée de la douche, c’était vraiment écœurant. Réservation du petit déjeuner à 9h30 en chambre qui n’est jamais arrivé. Pour un hôtel à plus de 300 € la nuit. Ça ne vaut absolument pas le coup. Nous avons réservé pour trois jours donc payé trois nuits et on en est resté qu’une et avons payé un autre hôtel beaucoup plus accessible. Retenez bien que l’accès à l’hôtel est extrêmement difficile. Personne nous l’a indiqué très très difficile surtout en arriver de nuit. Nous avons perdu presque 700€ !!!! Sans parler de l’hygiène de la chambre !

Chambres correct

Attention : 7 à 10 minutes de marche en montée pour atteindre « l’hôtel » non accessible en voiture. Gâche littéralement le séjour, aucune aide avec les valises. Pas de salle de sport ( à 5km) Jacuzzi ne fonctionne pas Très déçu que on ne soit pas prévenu de tout ça

The place is so beatiful. The room was amazing and very comfortable. The hot tube inside the room was great and the breakfast served in the room was great.

The location and access is very complex. You need to walk up very high inclined streets and the location is wrong on Google maps. Very tiring after a day in the beach to have 7-10 minutes with high inclined streets.

The location was wonderful, Pyrgos is beautiful but quieter than Fira or Oia. The room was huge and comfortable and the hot tub was great. The pool was really nice.

They were clearly understaffed and it led to reception being empty most of the time, no one to help with questions, and things like having the breakfast menu given to us kept being forgotten (and there was no one at reception to ask). The one employee there was lovely and very helpful but he couldn’t be everywhere at once. The breakfast also was pretty average considering the price of the hotel.

La posizione, il panorama e le stanze bellissime

Servizi inesistenti, personale inesistente. Viene richiesto di compilare un foglio sul quale ordinare la colazione per il giorno successivo che viene servita nella suite. Questa o arriva con pietanze a caso e in ritardo, o non viene servita per nulla. La camera bellissima ma sporca. Capelli di ospiti precedenti sul pavimento del bagno. Deludente, sinceramente non mi sento di consigliare questa struttura. Credo che a questi prezzi si possa veramente trovare molto altro di gran lunga di livello più adeguato a quello che in questo caso vogliono definirsi un 5 stelle.

The room itself was very beautiful and spacious, which initially gave us high hopes for the stay. Unfortunately, the service was truly disappointing. There was almost never anyone at the reception, and on our last day, no one was there for check-out. To make things worse, they completely forgot to bring us breakfast. It’s also unclear how often the rooms are cleaned—when we asked, we were given vague and evasive answers, which was quite frustrating. One of the most misleading aspects was the description on the website. It stated that the property had restaurants, a spa, and a gym. None of these were actually available. When we asked about the gym, the staff told us we’d need to go to another facility 5 km away—on the other side of Santorini. For the price and the supposed level of the accommodation, this is simply unacceptable. A beautiful room is not enough when the basics of hospitality are missing.

Not a negative- but it is relevant to know this property is a reasonably steep walk with no vehicle access , which with cases is not easy . Also it’s not a hotel but suites - so limited staff presence, no info in rooms about property , or town etc .
