Amazing little self-service hut. It was small and cosy and had everything you needed. Check-in was easy.

It was a rather long walk from the Coast to Coast trail at Clay Bank Top

Scenery was amazing. Wildlife close. Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly hosts. Sorted out a minor issue quickly and easily. Plenty of places to eat within a reasonable distance.

"Great Shepherds Hut, amazing location and so much wildlife!"

ONLY thing I’d mention is that I wish there was a blind on the small window above the bed, as this time of year it’s bright early, so we were woken quite early We put a towel over the window on the second night, which solved it 🤣
