Nongkhiaw The Float House

Stayed for one night on the way back from Muang Noi to see what a floating room was like. Loved sitting out on the deck watching the boats go by and chilling as the sun went down. Fabulous views and the room is lovely. Got a lift in and out of town for dinner and also walked in which was only about 10 mins.

They weren’t serving dinner so couldn’t try the menu which did look good. Had to remember to pull curtain when on the loo because of passing kayakers 🤣 Bath pretty ornamental as water seemed to come straight out onto bathroom floor, but preferred shower anyway so not an issue.

The room was perfectly located on the river.

A bit unconvienient to reach the townbut the hotel offers a shuttle about every 2 hours

We absolutely loved our stay in the Float House. After a few uncomfortable guest houses during our trip to SE Asia, this was a huge treat. We swam in the river as soon as we arrived and it was magical. We won’t forget our stay here!

Lovely location on the water. Great views and breakfast.

Leaking ceiling in bedroom so floor was wet when it rained. Also shower in bathroom is wet room so entire bathroom gets flooded every time you want to shower.

Être sur la rivière, oú l’on peut se baigner, la vue extraordinaire. La navette pour aller en ville. Le confort, la gentillesse du personnel. Une super expérience originale.

Loved the fact its on water. Balcony and outside river facilities is amazing to enjoy view, boats, swim, kayak etc. Fantastic breakfast - best had in Laos.

The room needs serious maintenance. Bath and shower and toilet hose broken. Brought to attention of staff who just did temp fix which caused shower extension head to just fall off again.

Les matériaux ne sont pas de qualité et la salle de bain est mal pensée.

Sept maisonnettes en bois posées sur la rivière, c'est déjà exceptionnel ! Une découverte pleine de magie, et même poétique, quand on débarque en bateau. Ajoutez à cela un luxe inattendu dans cet endroit loin du monde : tout est neuf et très propre, la salle de bains digne d'un 4 étoiles, la literie nickel, le deck très agréable, surtout au coucher du soleil. On tangue un peu au passage des bateaux : une expérience inoubliable. Cuisine simple mais bonne et très fraîche, avec les herbes cueillies sur place. Petit-déjeuner excellent (avec croissant parfait... improbable !). Ambiance décontractée, personnel très serviable. Jolie vue depuis le petit restaurant.

Un peu à l'écart du village, l'hôtel est desservi par un tuk-tuk, disons, rudimentaire. Le restaurant a fermé un midi sans que nous soyons prévenus. En raison du nombre de marches pour rejoindre le resto et de l'inconfort du tuk-tuk, je déconseillerais cette adresse aux personnes ayant des difficultés à se déplacer.
