The Elms Thekkady

We liked the front office staff and the coffee they served.

The approach to the hotel is short and very steep from the road and no steps are provided. Old people can trip and fall, specially while exiting from the house. The facility does not serve breakfast and we were told that there are several restaurants around the place. We did not find any good restaurant. A basic room with no AC and balcony is priced at 4.3K which we considered high for the facilities provided. There is limited and congested parking place in front of the house... negotiating the steep slope is a task for pro drivers.

Great location, walking distance to shop etc. , very comfortable and clean.

The room was pretty average looking and quite small, nothing special here. But the staff were amazing! The guy behind the reception was there to help us throughout the day, also he helped us book activities in the area. 10 stars just for him, otherwise this is a decent but not outstanding place.

Too many light/power switches for such a small room, and it was hard to figure out which is which.

I like everything! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are immaculately clean, I loved this place!

I don't like that there are not enough properties like this one in India!

A nice property close to lots of shops and restaurants. It's very near a busy are but set back enough for the convenience with no disturbance. Helpfull staff.

The property had hot water round the clock and it was close to the Periya Tiger Reserve Check post.

For the cost, the room size was small. After putting the extra bed there was no place to walk. There is no restaurant in the hotel either. The price was too much for small room with no breakfast.

- great location in Thekkady - central and not far from the park entrance, but away from all the noise of the town. Quiet at night - clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfy - good air conditioning and good shower - very helpful staff. Organised a jeep safari for us

- in-room amenities could have been better e.g. bigger shower gel, another soap so that we had one for kitchenette as well as bathroom. More toilet roll (had to ask a couple of times, however staff quick to respond when asked) - not a criticism but for future perhaps consider offering breakfast. For future guests, Chrissie’s cafe just up the road is very good

A very nice and clean hotel with a wonderful location—central yet quiet. The staff were extremely helpful. The only downside was that they don’t serve breakfast.
