Beyond Nomad Luxury Hostel

Other than the bathroom not being like the pictures there was a nice view from the breakfast area, the Sri Lanka breakfast really was incredibly tasty & filling (I really recommend trying the vegan oats) and the yoga classes were a nice benefit!

I booked the property because I thought the bathrooms looked modern even though it was more than other hostels. However, the room I was given in the bottom floor was not at all like the pictures. It was very mouldy in the shower, there was no shower door & the water would fill up quickly and flood the floor making the floor very wet afterwards. Apparently the top floor rooms have all had bathrooms renovated & are much nicer so if you stay make sure you are in one of these rooms. I don’t agree that the downstairs room and the upstairs rooms should be the same price though as they are not at all to the same standard. You should pay less & be offered to be moved upstairs during the stay if a bed becomes free. I don’t think it was therefore good value for money & if I hadn’t paid for the room upfront then I would have left after the first couple of nights for somewhere more central & cheaper.

I stayed here for 5 days. Pros: 1. Unmatchable view from hostel terrace. 2. Tasty free breakfast 3. Polite and helpful staff 4. Comfy beds and spacious washroom 5. Activities like cooking class/yoga/treks. 6. The property is spacious and you don't feel trapped in a small space. 7.Adjacent nomad cafe which serves tasty pizzas. Cons: The hostel on an average attracts calm and peace loving crowds. Of all my travels I have met most sad, void of life travellers in this hostel or srilanka in general.

It's a new hostel that opened 3 months ago. I stayed in the 4-bed female dorm and the room is clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is welcoming and helps a lot (especially Barry). They are happy for every feedback to improve the hostel experience. They have scooters to rent and the breakfast is delicious. The pizza is good and they have family dinners twice a week. Last but not least, the best thing: The view! I would definitely come back.

Amazing staff and amazing views! Best place I stayed in Sri Lanka

The location is great: easy walking distance from the main street, but in a quiet area with amazing view. The room is small (female dorm), but the locker is spacious, the bed is comfortable. The privacy curtain is great. Both the room and bathroom is clean. There’s hot water. The breakfast options are great, the staff is nice. The hostel is not very social, so if this is what you are looking for, maybe look elsewhere. But they have WhatsApp group, so in case you have initiatives, you might get some company. They offer a laundry service, make sure to give them at least 24hrs.

It would be nice to have proper hooks or shelves in the bathroom to pack your stuff while taking a shower. The ladder to the upper beds is the worst I’ve seen in years. It’s a workout to get up and down. Finding the reception is not obvious, more signs please!

Great hostel with very comfortable beds and curtains. Dorm rooms have enough space for luggage and lockers. One shared bathroom per room which is very clean and well taken care of. For breakfest one can choose between several options including nice Coffee. Staff is welcoming and super helpful with everything you need (laundry, TukTuk order, tours...). It's located a bit away from the busy street, so it is quite with a nice view from the rooftop terrasse. Would defenitely come back!
