Beyond Nomad Luxury Hostel

Hostel was located in a quiet part of town, it is very peaceful at night. The place was kept relatively clean despite sharing with many travellers.

The beds had curtains, plugs and light was next to the bed. The lockers were quite big. I got a free upgrade to the room with less beds. Foe breakfast you can choose between Sri Lankan and 'western' options. Nice view. Hot water! Very clean

The location is nice when it comes about the view but you have to bear in mind you have to walk down and up a bit.

The place has a beautiful view! The star was definitely the Sri Lankan complementary breakfast they have. It was excellent and very big! I really enjoyed staying at this place.

I loved the beautiful view from the hostel. It is located about 10-15 mins from Ella city center, worth the little walk. The beds are perfect - curtains provide for absolute privacy, and I think the beds are a little wider than usual. There is a lamp and socket by each bed, and everyone has a big storage to lock personal things, my onboard size suitcase fitted in it easily. The bathroom is ok. I also appreciated the possibility to get hot water any time from the machine by reception, to make a hot drink. The breakfast included in the price is definitely sufficient. Great value for money.

They were absolutely incredible—I cannot express how grateful I am in words. The breakfast was fantastic and incredibly satisfying! Enjoying it on the rooftop while taking in the stunning mountain views was an unforgettable experience. The owner and staff were amazing! I took the highway bus from Ella to Galle, I accidentally left my small backpack on the bus when I got off. I called the bus company, but I wasn’t sure if they understood or what to do. So, I contacted the hostel. The owner reached out to the bus company and told me that the bus would return with my backpack at 2 p.m. (in 1.5 hours). Just as he said, my backpack was returned! Big thanks to the owner and staff!

The hot shower didn’t work, but everything else was great that the issue didn’t even matter.

This is a super nice hostel just outside the main road of Ella. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff were very friendly!

The only one bathroom (inside the dorm) should be cleaned more often. Only once a day is not enough at all. Other than that, all was perfect!

The beds are very comfy and each has its own curtains for privacy. The free breakfast is the star of the show as the variety and amount is fantastic. The views from the hostel are stunning, and the location is great if you want to be away from the busy main area of Ella. I also really liked the chill-out / café area and the pizzas are delicious.

I stayed in both a 10 bed mixed and a 4 bed female dorm but neither had anywhere to hang up towels, which was really frustrating and could be so easily solved with some hooks! I also question the 'luxury' title as I've stayed in other hostels in Sri Lanka that provide things that this place doesn't - like towels, welcome drinks, and hand soap for after using the toilet - all without being classed as 'luxury'. There's only 1 x shower and toilet for 10 x people in a dorm, so there's often a queue and not enough toilet paper.
