Mara Intrepids Tented Camp

We are definitely coming back to Mara Intrepids! 5 mins from nearest airstrip, everything is good from the safari to the food to the tent. They are so accommodative, hospitable and friendly. My guide Dennis is so knowledgeable and has vast experience with the game drive. They also have an adventurous kids club which provides activities for the kids on a daily basis. We even spotted Elephants and Hippos around the camp. We had a great time here.

Our stay at Mara Intrepids was nothing short of exceptional. The warmth and hospitality of the entire team truly made this experience unforgettable. A special mention to Lawrence, George, and Sylvester from the food team — they went above and beyond to make every meal special. George, in particular, was outstanding. He effortlessly catered to all our requests, preparing a wide variety of cuisines including Indian, Chinese, and even Mexican — each dish absolutely delicious and made with care. One of the highlights was the beautiful barbecue they organized by the poolside — a perfectly curated evening with great food and a lovely ambience that we will always remember. They also made our son’s birthday incredibly special with a complimentary cake and a heartwarming celebration, complete with a wonderful song by the entire team. It was such a thoughtful gesture and meant a lot to us. Our guide, Samson, deserves equal praise for delivering a brilliant 4-day safari experience. His knowledge, patience, and keen eye ensured we had incredible sightings and truly immersive game drives. Mara Intrepids is not just about the stunning location — it’s the people who make it extraordinary. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and personalized safari experience.

Amazing tent, we had a lovely experience at intrepids. It was the little touches like a hot water bottle in bed before we came to our rooms at night to preorders of tea or coffee at our wake up call in the mornings for our game drives. The property itself is lovely, situated right next to the lake where you can see hippos and other wildlife. Staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was also lovely, we were served with three course meals delicatley plated and of high quality. Thank you to all the staff are Mara intrepids for such a lovely stay

Nothing. The only touch that could have been added was a small drink and hot towel after each game drive.

The people who worked at Mara (including our guides) were exceptional! The tent was super comfortable and the meals were fantastic. We enjoyed the evening slide shows and the animals and countryside were incredible!! We thought this would be our only trip to eastern Africa, but hopefully, we will return again. What a special place!!

The visit to the Maasai village started out nicely, but we didn't like the craft sales part. 😢 Otherwise, everything else was perfect!

We like everything

Mara Intrepids is the perfect place to stay while visiting Maasai Mara. It has an excellent location - 3 minutes drive from the Olkiombo airstrip, and right on the banks of the Talek river, with views of the resident hippos. The tents are very comfortable and the staff is extremely helpful and hospitable. The food is superb too, practically Michelin star level. Definitely want to visit again.

The camp is situated in a beautiful location and is very well maintained. The food quality was consistently good, and the cleanliness and hygiene of the tents were excellent. The overall atmosphere was peaceful, comfortable, and ideal for a relaxing stay.

The service experience requires significant improvement. The phone operator was often rude, aggressive, and not particularly helpful, making it difficult to obtain assistance or information. The reception team appeared casual in their approach and did not always seem attentive to guests' concerns or requests. Additionally, the bar manager came across as indifferent and unaccommodating, which detracted from the overall guest experience. While the property itself is excellent, improvements in customer service and guest engagement would greatly enhance the overall experience.
