Lovelady Shield Country House Hotel

My 2nd stay and as peaceful and restful as my first. The hotel is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and has lots of walking opportunities literally on its doorstep. Everywhere is clean and nicely decorated with comfortable beds and good en-suite facilities. Breakfast is lovely with plenty of hot and cold choices. Staff are really friendly and helpful but unobtrusive so you can relax and enjoy your stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you want a peaceful place to relax.

Breakfast was good. Lots of choice. Room and bathroom very clean. Staff polite and friendly.

Worst breakfast experience ever.

An excellent choice for breakfast with helpful and pleasant staff who had a good sense of humor, I was asked if everything was OK with my breakfast and I said no it was missing something, after a short pause I said a birthday cake as it was my 60th I was there for, shortly afterwards three staff came to me singing happy birthday with a piece of cake and a candle on it.

I didn't like leaving personal item in the hotel room, a couple of days later when I realised I phoned the hotel up and they told me they have the items and agreed to send them to me, which I was grateful to receive back.

A warm welcome at reception and shown main rooms of the hotel. My room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the parking area and river. It was described as an economy room but had a lovely comfortable big bed, a tv with streaming services and an en-suite with heated towel rail and powerful shower over the bath. Everything was really clean and fresh and I had a wonderfully relaxing stay, Breakfast was great with a good choice of cereals, pastries, fruits, yogurts, juices etc to start and a delicious cooked to order to follow. Staff were really friendly and helpful throughout my stay and housekeeping was totally reliable. A remote setting in the valley with sheep in the fields gave a very chilled setting,

The location was superb. The property was very welcoming. Lovely room with gorgeous windows and very comfortable bed. Exceptionally clean and very cosy. (Fur throws were available in wardrobe, very nice touch). Wonderful breakfast and very attentive and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

Nothing we didnt like. Perfect for what we wanted.
