Fawsley Hall Hotel

Beautiful historic building in an amazing countryside location, with really charming features throughout. The grounds are lovely for walks and the overall atmosphere feels very relaxing. The food was excellent and a real highlight of the stay. The spa facilities are well maintained and enjoyable, and we appreciated being upgraded on arrival.

We were upgraded without being asked, which wasn’t ideal as we would have preferred to choose. The room became extremely hot during the night (around 4am), likely due to being on the top floor, and despite turning the heating off immediately at check in at 3pm. The windows only opened slightly, and although there was air conditioning, there were no clear instructions and it wasn’t obvious how to use it. The spa, while nice, felt a bit limited as the pool is only 1m deep throughout, and it became quite crowded with children, which made it less relaxing. Similarly, dinner was quite noisy due to children, though this may be expected during a bank holiday period.

Attentive, down to earth, genuinely lovely staff. Fantastic building and service. Super breakfast.

Cocktail with needless and inappropriate references to pornography. Constant Music in communal areas. Why not enjoy the peace and splendour of the beautiful surroundings.

The location is amazing, the site is beautiful. the room we had was large, with a second floor living room area. The shower and bath are great, the pressure and heat are both perfect. The spa is nice, they have everything you would want. There are great walks around the hotel. There is ample parking and the site is easy to find.

The hotel is in a really old building, so the floors and squeaky and you can hear your neighbours. The food in the hotel is very overpriced, they are going for a fine dining experience but i do not think the quality of the food matches the prices they are charging. They have two restaurants, one is a 7 course tasting menu for £95. We tried it and found it to be okay, but not worth £95 in my opinion. The other is an al a carte restaurant, with main meals costing around £30. I ordered the bread and butter (£3) for the table, but it come out still frozen in the middle. They replaced the bread but I left feeling disappointed that a place that would charge £30 for a plate of pasta couldn't stretch to serving fresh bread. The staff in the hotel were nice, but not to the standard that i have experienced in similar priced hotels.

It’s in a great location amidst beautiful countryside

It seemed that as a family with young children we were seen as second class visitors. This was a recurring theme of our stay unfortunately.

Lovely grounds and nice spa facilities. There are two sauna rooms, one being Himalayan salt and the other a Finnish sauna as well as a steam room. Really enjoyed the outdoor hydropool, but can imagine it could get busier, could fit about 8 people comfortably. Relatively quick rotation for some people. We had a room with feature and it was worth it, very fortunate to have a view over the lake, it was spotless and felt very homely. Lots of light and was a really good size for 2 people with a shower and a tub. Beds and bedding superb. Restaurant felt a little expensive (the bar / brasserie), they were happy to accommodate for gluten free and vegetarian and the food was very good, so worth it. The pool wasn't full length but decent, usually someone in there but not too many. The gym had a squat rack, a couple benches and some cardio equipment, no cable or machines, but a very decent gym for a hotel, one of the nicest I've been to. It is open to members but wasn't too busy over the bank holiday and all in all had a great time. Staff were lovely all round, definitely felt well accommodated. Would definitely be happy to go back, particularly in summer to make use of some of the outdoor seating.

We had to wait until 1530 for check in, we had come from quite far and arrived early so wasn't ideal, would have been nice to be offered some minor complementary gesture for the wait. Service staff were fantastic, but when the bar got busy at one point felt a little long for the drinks wait.

Beautiful stay! Lovely grounds, excellent facilities and extremely comfy beds! The bar staff and check in staff we really friendly and the spa was just gorgeous!
