Lovely setting, well decorated, very clean, nice bedding, very good breakfast.

The bathroom was a bit small. Some TV channels would not work.

All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were so accommodating. The food here is great with a varied choice, I was fortunate to be there for their curry night which was highly recommended to me by the bar lady, and fair play it was absolutely delicious. The breakfasts were also excellent, with quality ingredients and a varied menu. My room was nice, the en suite was bijou but perfectly adequate for my needs. Overall the Wheatsheaf is a fantastic place to stay and I can highly recommend it.

We had 1 night B&B at the Wheatsheaf, not expecting a great deal, how surprised we were, to look at it is a typical country pub, the bar/restaurant is also like a pub. the comparison ends there, the Sunday roast was exceptional both in quality and quantity, we managed to get the last 2 pork dinners available and glad we did. Our room was an adequate size for our stay, the shower room was a bit of a squeeze although everything you need was in there. The double bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The morning breakfast was again exceptional, there was a varied choice of cereals, bread, toast, jams and marmalade, yoghurt, oat biscuit bars, fruit and fruit juice plus a selection of cooked breakfasts from the menu, and some really nice coffee(Taylors of Harrogate), In all a really enjoyable experience. We will definitely return.

Easy access and great parking

The location is in the middle of nowhere - just how we like it. The breakfast was in with the price and was excellent. The food in the Wheatsheaf was amazing! The Prawns were the best we have ever had and the Thai Curry. Staff were friendly. This is not a posh place - it is an old farmhouse that was converted into a pub/restaurant but it is what we love about it. The food is what we are going back again for in 3 weeks time.

If we were to be really picky - I'd probably say the bed in the Wells room was a little too hard for our liking. The shower didn't work but there is a problem with the water flow that they explained how to rectify. Hopefully this will get sorted soon.

Lovely pub, great staff, evening meal was fantastic, very tasty, huge portion and really nice dessert. The attention to detail was great, we took our dog and when we first went to our room there was a chair with a dog blanket, towel/mat, food and water bowls, treats and mess bags for her, a nice touch. Nice clean room. Will definitely return.

Everybody's different, I personally found the pillows a little uncomfortable but I appreciate that's a very hard compromise to find so its by no means a complaint.

The staff could not do enough for us as residents. Great food at breakfast time and for our evening meal, expertly looked after by Sue. We wholeheartedly recommend this establishment and all of its staff.
