Mountain vibe ella

The room is nice, clean and it has an amazing view. The owner is very kind and helpful and he makes the best breakfast - eggs, toast, lots of fresh fruits and he always added some Sri Lanka sweets or snacks. The portions are very generous! The owner also prepared a take away breakfast for us when we wanted to start the day very early. Overall - very good value for money.

The last part of the path is a little steep and can be challenging to access for the first time if you arrive with your own tuk tuk. Once you get used to it, it can be a fun experience. Either way, the owner offered us an alternative parking which was easier to access.

We had an incredible stay at this charming property! The host was exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The view from the house is absolutely stunning, especially with the mountains as a breathtaking backdrop. The location is peaceful and perfect. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning.

Great breakfast and super host. Nice location if you want to be a little out of Ella - we typically walked to town (downhill) and took a Tuk Tuk back (uphill). Overall a very good stay.

This is a small and intimate lodge high up on a mountain slope above Ella, with dramatic views of the surrounding valley and mountain peaks. There are only a few rooms, so there is a strong sense of community. The rooms are simple, the upper floor room I had basic, with high ceiling, a large bed, ensuite bathroom, and lots of natural light. There are a few shelves to put away your things. A generous and good quality breakfast is included. The owner is very involved with the guests, providing whatever help and support they may need. Close to the lodge there is an excellent local-style eatery. One huge appeal of being this far out of town, high up on a hill above town is the sense of privacy and rural solitude more befitting the experience of what Ella should offer - the town of Ella feels like a cruise ship terminal, swamped with tourists.

As the pocket of land gets heavy winds, the upstairs rooms at the lodge can feel like they are in gale force winds, although strangely enough, that is not the case for the main floor rooms! Wifi can drop off. There is no AC - but you don't really need it here.

Shiraz was the most incredible host who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay. Breakfast was amazing, the room had everything as stated and the views were incredible. When my partner lost his wallet, Shiraz helped by phoning places where we had been and eventually helped us to find it again! Shiraz also organised a scooter which was delivered and picked up from the hotel for us. Again, Shiraz organised an affordable taxi for us at the end of our stay. Thank you for an exceptional stay in Ella! 🙏🏽

Nothing to not like!

Shiraz was an amazing host, so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka and the property has stunning views. A walk away from the town or short tuk tuk ride. The rooms were big and comfy beds.
