Blombos Self-Catering House

The quietness, the trail on the farm, the beautiful garden, seeing animals around, the view and the spacious place.

The host greeted us on arrival and personally accompanied us to our house, even gifting us some veggies from the garden. The place was lovely and well equipped. The garden and outside area was absolutely fabulous and we spent most of our time there. We also enjoyed coffee and cake at the restaurant, with curious goats, chickens and pigs as table guests.

The only thing we would have changed were the curtains, as they smelled of many years of heavy smoke.

Wood was provided. Sheep on the farm.

I was moved to a different house, not matching the description of the one I booked. There was no prior communication about this. I found this highly unprofessional, as the house I was moved to was very different from the one I booked. It did not have outside fireplace and the secluded pond location, which were the main reasons for my booking. The new house (two-bedroom apartment / Kiepersol) was close to the park-run area, which was very noisy on Saturday 8-10 AM. Patio was dirty with lot of bird poop, even on the improvised braai equipment. I would advise anyone to double confirm with hosts if they will actually stay in the house they booked.

We liked the surrounding environment, the mountains and the hiking trail the farm provided.
