Delft Village Stay - Experience Based Local Island Stay in Jaffna

A really fun and character-filled place to stay. I wish we had stayed longer! We stayed in the AC room which was basic but everything you could need. The (optional) well shower area is a cool authentic touch. We rented bikes to see the island, no luck with the wild horses but still starkly beautiful.

It's a little backpackers heaven. We had a really good time sharing dinner with the other guests and Tony. The place is really beautiful and peaceful, the tent comfortable.

Cosy atmosphere, host Tommy provides all the information you need and the food there, that you need to order in advance so they know how much to cook for, was so good! Great place to go on the island and also to meet other travellers if you would like that.

We used the A/C room. A power socket to top level of bunker bed is needed for those who select that bed.

Everything ! Tommy is a wonderful host ! The vibes here is special and we loved it ! The tent are cozy , clean and simple. We really appreciate the free bicycle ride to the beach :) We also had a boat trip for the sunset and it was so fun and beautiful !! But be careful … If you go there you might don’t wanna leave …

Everything, not a single negative thing to say. Hands down the BEST place I stayed in my month long trip to Sri Lanka. Tommy is an incredible host and has so much knowledge, he’s happy to help you with any further travel plans. This place is PERFECT just the way it is. Free bike hire to get to the beach. So many activities, tuk tuk safari, sleeping on the beach, boat trip, sunrise swims. The island is magical and staying with Tommy just enhances your experience in all the best ways.

Could do with serving lunch.

We had a wonderful overnight stay with Tommy at Delft Village. We loved our glamping, the tent has a shady shelter, fans, real beds and all home comforts. The site has lots of places to chill and relax: hammocks, deckchairs and the common area is inclusive. We loved showering in the open air-wonderful. The Home cooked shared food was a perfect end to the day. We wished we’d stayed another night to enjoy Delft and the Village Stay. It was so lovely to relax and slow down the pace of life. Tommy is the best host-helpful & kind.

Tommy is such a nice guy and 2 nights are actually too short for such a beautiful setting. Loved everything about my stay here and would go back in a heartbeat.
