Delft Village Stay - Experience Based Local Island Stay in Jaffna

Very friendly atmosphere. Tommy is extremely helpful. As comfortable as you could expect in a remote location for this type of accommodation, with hammocks, lounges, fans and swinging chairs. Excellent food, and helpful advice about what to see and do on the island. Also bicycles for rent (free for short trips)

It is basic, and the shower and well water is brackish - but that is true of the whole island, and they do provide good drinking water.

Great place to stay on delft island. Really remote island really loved our stay. We only stayed 2 nights but had the best time. The place was really well organised and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Hammocks everywhere and even the outdoor salty shower wasn’t even bad. It was really nice to be outdoors and the tents were great. The dinner and breakfast were great.

There isn’t much food option on the island for lunches- there is 1 very basic restaurant that sells curry and rice and would have been great if they offer lunch as well. Though breakfast and dinner was incredible.

The host Tommy went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The whole vibe was something different and the experience was really good. Loved the place, the food and the whole surroundings. You can just sit and dream away.

This is the most wonderful place to stay! Tommy is a fantastic host and caters to all your needs. The tents are super comfortable, and with a fan for fresh air you'll get a very restful sleep. The bathrooms are simple and work perfectly, it's really nice having a shower with the stars above you. All the meals were delicious and generous, you can't fault it! Thanks Tommy 😁

We loved the location, next to the beach , and quiet Loved the chilled atmosphere and communal spaces where you can meet people and chat the tents were great- we were worried we might be hot without AC but the fans and breeze were perfect Loved the food- cooked by ladies from the villiage !! Amazing There was bikes to rent to cycle and see the sights and wild horses - amazing experience Most of all Loved Tommy - always around to help out and answer our questions . We especially Loved how eco friendly and non wasteful the place was - drain water feeds the plants and you can bath using the well !!

Delft Village Stay is nestled in the heart of the village offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere that makes it an ideal retreat. Despite Delft being a remote island with limited resources, this stay provides more than enough comfort to truly enjoy your time here. The eco-friendly vibe and natural surroundings create a unique and refreshing experience. It's conveniently located within walking distance to the Sandy Beach and several local attractions. The shared amenities are clean and well-maintained, and there is even a traditional well where you can bathe like a local. Bicycles and motorbikes are available for rent which makes it easy to explore the island. The host - Vithushan (Tommy), is incredibly friendly and welcoming. He was attentive and helpful since I made the booking by offering valuable information and tips to make the most of my visit. Also enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals made by friendly locals, served for both breakfast and dinner. The food added a homely touch to the stay. I spent my days cycling around the island exploring its natural beauty and visiting nearly all the attractions. Evenings were best spent relaxing by the beach soaking in the tranquil island vibes. I would highly recommend this place if you're coming to Delft island to relax or explore attractions.

Cozy, nice and creative concept. Very flexible and attentive. For a remote island like Delft this is an excellent facility.

The place was incredible. I enjoyed very much. I had a chance to meet and interact with the locals and get some cultural experience. Being an Indian Tamil, I enjoyed it a lot to see Sri Lankan Tamils. The beach is probably the best thing. The place is 2 to 3 mins walk away from the beach. I got to relax a lot. Although not a classic beach resort experience, it was chill and a bit of a camping vibe.

Internet connection both Wifi and Mobile Network were not good and I could not get any work done. If you plan to do digital nomad stuff, then it may not work here.
