YAM HOTEL

Super comfortable, and very nice boutique hotel. Super well located just walking distance to main streets but quite.

There is really no one in front desk so if you need anything you need to tlak on whatsapp.

Beautiful furnishings inside and out- the pool was private and ideal for the hot coastal weather. Perfectly clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Air con was great, staff very helpful over message. Very short walk to the beach and main roads. Their recommended restaurants/ bakeries/ attractions were spot on.

There’s music from a bar across the road on weekend nights, but not a problem if you sleep with earplugs (we always travel with them, but yam also provided them if you needed)

It’s a beautiful hotel in a great location. The rooms are large and minimally decorated (in a nice way) and very comfortable. The air con in the bedroom was great but it’s worth noting that the kitchen is outdoors and the bathroom has bug screens rather than windows so will be warm - this wasn’t a problem for us! The staff are really helpful and friendly and drinking water is provided. It was mostly really peaceful and we felt very surrounded by nature, with lots of trees and birds and hammocks to sit in and enjoy all of that.

Some parts of the hotel feel a bit unfinished - a couple of light fittings were missing in the bathroom and the land to the side of the hotel is a bit of a dumping ground over a low wall, which was a bit of a clash with the peaceful and perfectly detailed room and rest of the grounds. Still, we really loved our stay and would recommend it!

The hostel owner was fantastic, my friend was very sick and they were so supportive and generous in assisting us. The apartment was stunning and super clean, we really loved staying there.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Location was good for Mazunte. Many things walking distance.

Quite a few steps for a heavy suitcase and the main swimming pool which was small, was overused and not cleaned as often.

The rooms were super clean and the staff came in everyday to clean which is always nice. The plunge pools got a lot of use for our group. The rooms were minimalist and had a nice style.

I know others mentioned the water pressure in the showers and I overlooked that thinking those people were being picky but now that I have experienced it, please be aware, THE WATER PRESSURE was awful and at one point, a trickle was coming out of the shower. Also, the water temperature was very temperamental. We had a sewage smell in our room but, luckily there was another room open (the large apartment) which we moved to. Unfortunately, due to the height of the ceiling in this room and gaps to outside, our A/C unit never went below 26 degrees (78 F) even when we had it set for 16, so night sleeping in a hot room was a little uncomfortable. We do not mind having windows open for fresh air instead of A/C but that would have made the noise coming from outside even worse than it was. Next point: The cacophony of sounds coming in throughout the night was horrible. There were so many dogs barking all night that 2 of the 4 nights, I got no sleep at all. In addition to the dogs, were roosters and street noise. On Friday night there was EDM music playing from town until midnight and it sounded like it just outside our door. We were already settled in when our host told us of the earplugs available. The lighting in the room is awful as well. I could not read at night in bed because the lighting was so dim. I realize this is a vibe of the room but it just did not work for me. The room also did not have much place to store away clothes. It was better in the large apartment but absolutely no place to put away your things in our first room (far left unit with an outdoor kitchen). Lastly, the walk up to the hotel was not lit and when we first arrived at the end of the street, we had no idea where the hotel was. There is no sign directing you. Now, on the plus side, my kids rooms (one over one on the far right) were nicer than our first room so if you are going to stay at Yam, I would choose one of those. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Yam.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location. Pharmacy and shops/beach nearby. Room lovely and clean.

There was no parking and you did have to climb stairs/hill to reach the accomodation so would not recommend for those with access requirements.

Everything was absolutely lovely, the staff, their responsiveness, the location, loved the architecture! Would def stay there again!

Nice hotel, super cozy and comfy room, close to the main street but not noisy at all.

A possibility to park could have a been useful.
